| Here is a thread to list your Fleming paperback collection. This could be quite informative, as the famous books have been re-issued and reprinted under many guises, lo these last, almost 60 years.
This website: http://www.pizgloria.com/index.php?counter=X has photos and indexes of all the paperbacks issued. It's quite comphrehensive. It has the names of each series of covers, such as the "still life" or the "white" or the "girls on guns" covers. The site is a tad tricky to navigate, but with minimal concentration, the covers all fall into place.
Please list the publisher, "name" of cover series and year of printing. If you can't figure out the "name of cover series" from the Piz Gloria site, just do your best to describe the cover.
Include your hardcovers as well.
Here goes. Here's my hodge podge collection of Still Lifes and Girls On Guns and misc, from oldest printing down. I've included my Colonel Sun and Pearson book, as they pre-date some of the Fleming printings.
The simple version is I've got YOLT in the 1965 Raymon Hawkey series
FRWL in the 1972 Pan White series
CR, FYEO, TSWLM and OHMSS in the 1973 Pan Still Life Series
LALD in the 1973 Pan UK Movie tie-in series
Colonel Sun in the 1973 Pan original cover
DAF in the 1974 Pan Still Life series
TMWTGG in the 1974 UK movie tie-in series
JB: The Authorized Bio in the 1975 Pan Still Life series
OP: in the Triad Granada, 1981 Girls on Guns series
MR, DN, GF and TB in the 1984 Triad Panther, Girls on Guns Series

$6.99 shipping. An absolute steal. :D Nice catch, that's one of the original run of covers. My collection basically translates to a bunch of old paperbacks, some of them well-used, so I doubt they are worth much. I originally had 10 of the Still Life covers, but I lost 5 during a move and had to replace them with the ugly girls-on-guns covers. The YOLT book I "borrowed" from a neighbor when I was a kid, so that's the first one I read. His parents had it lying around. Then I cashed in meagre accrued cash and bought the FRWL Pan "white cover" because the Tatiana model on the front was practically naked, and I could almost see, all of one of her boobs (the right one). This is very exciting when you are 12 years old. Then I started buying up the Still Life covers, as I scraped the cash together, to complete the set, as well as the two movie-tie-in covers. My collection I'm sure is quite worthless (paperbacks don't fetch much on the collectables market) but it has huge sentimental value. |

| FYEO arrived today. Here's a photo of the front and back: I'm amazed by the condition. No creases, tears, or markings. For $10, this eBay seller's getting top marks. |

| Nice haul Brown. That's a good looking book. According to Piz Gloria, its from the Great Pan, Sam Peffer Yellow 007 series - cover first published 1962, which appears to be the 2nd ever paperback issue of the FYEO title., although ti does appear to be the first UK paperback release of that title.
This signet 1961 issue looks like it was the first, from the USA "Signet early series"
http://www.pizgloria.com/images/FYEO21.jpg
The Sam Peffer Yellow series stops with FYEO. The next big issue was the Pan, Raymond Hawkey series which was the first issue to comprise all 14 titles, and the first issues of everything from TB forward, at least according to the info posted on Piz Gloria.Follow the link to " by series" and Great Pan.

I like this title, the first USA paperback. A one-off 1958 Popular Library Series edition of CR, re-titled You Asked For It Bond minus his gun, but pouring a whiskey straight up, and leering at the girl. :)

This early USA LALD cover is taken straight from the scene in the Fleming book, when Big captures Bond after his underwater crossing. It's very close anyway. (from the 1956 U.S. "Perma Books Series", comprising LALD, Too Hot Too Handle (MR) and DAF)

| This is pretty much my favorite aspect of collecting the books. I've always been a paperback person, and to me fictional 007 means only one thing-James Bond thriller 1960's red ink rimmed Signet paperbacks. Signet-JB Thrillers: CR, MR, DAF, FRWL, FYEO, TB, TSWLM Signet JB 007 Thrillers: LALD, DN Black Signet: TMWTGG Berkley Silhouette: CR, GF, TB, Movie tie-in: Signet OHMSS, DAF Hardcover with movie poster artwork, Signet 1965 OP paperback and a nice condition Col. Sun-US Bantam pb 1968
US Pan 60's HC of CR. Bond Classic Library 1990's HC reprints with custom art of GF and OHMSS US 1st: YOLT, TMWTGG, OP
Are there any major differences in reading the 60's Signet editions? All I Know of is the dropped bit in Harlem from LALD.
