ICloud turns dark and stormy for many A-list celebrities

This is bad. I mean, really bad. Mostly for Jennifer Lawrence, because she's face of The Hunger Games franchise, and a co-star of another franchise, and with several Oscar nominations and one win, plus several hit films to her credit (I liked her Silver Lining Playbook), she appeared to be the rare actor that can open up a movie based on bankable name recognition and likeability. In a movie environment increasingly overwhelmed with CGI, and making actors like Hanks, and Julia, and Cruise increasingly irrelevant, Jennifer Lawrence was one of the few who could open up a wide variety of films on name power alone. Will be interesting to see what kind of consequences there will be for her.

So why does an Oscar winning actress with millions of dollars in backing from studios, promotional partners, etc...lower herself to the level of a common XXX-porn star? Kim Kardashian and Jenny McCartney's nudes are about to be leaked, but hasn't the world already seen every square inch of Kardashian anyway? And Kim's sex tape was her resume; it helped open doors that would normally have been shut in her face due to her, like, not having any talent or anything. So Jenny and Kim won't be hurt by this. Some of the D-listers on this list will be helped by this scandal, because it'll be tons of free publicity they could not have gotten otherwise. But Jennifer Lawrence didn't need any of this because she has something to lose; a lot. I think she's got make-up endorsements, clothing endorsements....it'll be interesting to see if any promotional sponsors decide to take a wait-and-see approach with her or just simply abandon her.

Make no mistake: Hollywood has a class system. She went from multimillion dollar feature films....to looking like she was posing for Club Magazine, or starring in a XXX film. There's really no distinction between what she did and what an adult film actress does.

Embarassing maybe but the only long term consequences will be guys masturbating to whatever they can get...I don't think she'll lose out on any future franchises. Those photos of her look like they were taken before she made it big.

By the way, she looks great in selfies. Do it myself actually, now if only I was a Hollywood A-Lister.

Some of the pix actually do look good considering they are "amateur". But some of them look trashy; as if she was auditioning for the centerfold of Muff Parade. The pix of her being nude she could get away with, but if the picture of her with baby batter on her face is legit, or the video of her giving a throbby knobby to her boyfriend is really her, well....it may get a little more problematic for her, the pr team, and the studio.

And I will never, ever be able to look at Jessica Brown Findlay again in the same way as before. Or curling irons for that matter. That's why this leak is potentially so damaging to these actresses and models; it takes out of their hands their carefully coordinated and crafted image. For example: when I see Donna Rice, I always think of Gary Hart and The Monkey Business. When I see Monica Lewinksy I think of cigars and a blue dress.

Some of these D-listers will get a career boost from the publicity. And since Kim Kardashian made her career off of a porno flick, there's no real harm being done to her (she was already a publicity whore). Same with Rhianna and Jenny McCarthy. Before this, Bar Rafaeli was associated with being Leo Dicaprio's long-time girlfriend; now all I can imagine is the curling iron. But I'm pretty sure this is not how Jennifer Lawrence wanted to be remembered for the rest of her life, and trust me, she will be. Just like no one can talk about Vanessa Williams without the footnote of her pictures in Penthouse, Jennifer's life will not be the same.

Many sites are posting these pics without the baby batter pic which makes me suspect it's not legit.

Of course the FBI are investigating this, because I'm sure they'd do the same for non-celebrities. I don't blame them for this happening to them, that's ultimately the hackers violating their privacy. However, I'd never trust iCloud with private stuff like that and it was one of the first things I shut off when I got an iPhone.

Mary Winstead's were nice. I didn't even know who she was before these photos were leaked, but now she seems like a very talented woman.

In all seriousness...I didn't think much about her when the first X-Men movie she was in came out. But by the time I saw Silver Linings Playbook my view of her started to change. I don't think she's a natural stunner...someone like Halle Berry, or Denise Richards, but when she gets made up, I think she crosses over into Bond Girl territory.

And I don't think, in this era of fast news cycles where a story burns hot for a few days and then we all move on to the next big story, that this will hurt her career. The story is already almost largely forgotten, as people concentrate on ISIS, Syria, Joan Rivers, etc....
