I'm sure that Lake Bell is devastated. I mean, after going fully nude for the entire second half of "Black Rock", I'm sure that a couple of leaked nude pictures will cause her sleepless nights.

I'm also rather confused by the interest in Kim Kardashian's pictures? Doesn't she owe her celebrity status to a leaked sex video? What could possibly be revealed that people haven't yet seen of her?

Nicholas Hoult (picture lifted off of Jennifer Lawrence's phone)

Just based on the sheer number of pictures Jennifer Lawrence took of herself, she's been one busy beaver. There is something hideously grotesque and disturbing about people squatting in front of a cell phone and taking pictures of their butthole. The pictures that Jennifer Lawrence and Hope Solo have taken of themselves are so raunchy and filthy that they would never have made it into the pages of PLAYBOY or PENTHOUSE. If Lawrence/Solo were aiming to be a professional adult film actress/model, their photographer would have had to shop these pictures to magazines such as SCREW, OUI, CLUB, etc...

Funny how these actors and actresses don't like to watch themselves on screen (many actors and actresses have never seen the movies/tv series that they are in), but have no problem taking a picture of themselves having intercourse with a curling iron. You know, maybe this sort of sexual expression/"freedom" isn't such a good thing after all. Maybe we should be living in the moment, and not taking selfies of every single activity we engage in. Maybe some memories are just meant be between one or two people and then die when they do; not everything needs to live on in posterity.

Please. These photos were meant to be private for boyfriends, not be published on Playboy or Penthouse. That analogy doesn't work. As for these leaks being atrocities, they are. Not on the same level of beheading, and which of these women even claimed it was on the same plane as beheading? You're putting words in their mouth. They're still major violations of privacy. If there's anything they did wrong, it was being too trusting of the internet/icloud to keep these private photos secure. Ultimately, I don't blame them for this happening. It's the person that leaked the photos that should be blamed.

Somehow I think many people miss the fact that the people who steal and publish these photographs online are criminals.

I can't say I'm all that surprised at the fact that the overwhelming reaction to Snowden's revelations was a collective shrug. Most citizens are barely aware of their rights. Never mind expecting them to lift a finger to preserve them.

Just curious....what's the law in California, if there is any, against pilfering through someone's garbage can? Once something has been trashed and is being sent to the dump, does a claim of privacy go out the window? If so, could lawyers claim these "hackers" were simply collecting garbage that these women no longer wanted? If these photos were deleted and sent to a cyber trash bin, could someone claim it as their own property?

Nonetheless, there's criminal activity and then there's also making oneself a target. There is no debate left about this topic: if you make a sex tape of yourself or take pictures of yourself naked, THEY WILL get leaked somehow, some way. It is a given. We've been through this too many times for people such as Jennifer Lawrence to be this naive. It may mean your life is slightly duller for not having taken pictures of your ball sac, but you can at least rest assured that the most intimate parts of your life and body won't get put on full display on social media.

So yes, the people who stole this information and posted it online are criminals. Hence why the FBI is investigating this "fappening" nonsense.

BTW, the most commonly held theory about this is that the pictures were not obtained by a single or even a small group of individuals but rather a large hidden community that illegally obtained and then shared said pictures with themselves.

And yet there are many NSFW (not safe for work) sites, sometimes 'hidden' on the net that specialise in trading amateur selfies that were never meant to be leaked, or shared (but exes can be assholes). Their owners know it's illegal, which is why they are hosted on foreign servers.

I'd be infuriated if my own private pics were breached, far less leaked to the world.

Although...I still couldn't resist peeking at what's been leaked....

What about you throw the phone in the garbage. You take the garbage to the curb for pick up. An ego-deficient cretin aka he papparazzi, starts going through your trash and uncover your cell phone. They then find the photos you deleted and start sharing. Have they committed a crime? It's stuff you didn't want

Well the going through the trash bin tactic is often used in identify theft and it's no less illegal.
