Billie Eilish is supposedly all but officially announced as the singer for No Time To Die, making her the youngest artist to perform a Bond theme.
I look forward to trying to decipher the lyrics during the titles sequence. Guess her diction is a good fit for Craig's.
EDIT: just had googled her images and she looks about as dour as Craig Bond and Madeleine Swann. Perfect fit.

Don't mind her stuff and she is popular with the kiddies, but can't say she immediately screams Bond to me. Certainly won't be a Shirley Bassey imitation.

She's yet another of those artists of whom I can say 'I know OF her but don't know anything BY her'.

I do find the choice a bit funny from the perspective that Billie was not even five years old the first time Craig played Bond.

Ouch, that's interesting.
Oddly puts me in mind of Star Trek Generations where Alan Ruck's Harriman tells Kirk he read about him in grad school.

Sam Smith - 23 (when he recorded Writing's On The Wall)
Billie Eilish - 18
At this rate, Bond 26's song will be by a bloody foetus.
We'll see I guess, but my hopes aren't exactly high for Eilish's offering.

Did "The Writing's on the Wall" actually win an Oscar?

Probably for the best. Too young to remember what a travesty that film was.
I'm not as disappointed as when Sam Smith was announced for Spectre's theme, which is continuing my idea that NTTD will be a small improvement on the 24th film. It's also continuing the notion I've posted before that Eon seem more concerned with breaking records with this film, instead of potentially making the best film possible.
- Longest serving Bond in terms of years. - First American director. - First American director to be credited as writer. - First female writer credited with original ideas (Harwood was always 'adapted by', no?) - Youngest singer to perform theme song. - First time the main Bond girl returns in a Bond film - First time another character is 007 (if true) - First time Blofeld played by the same actor in 2nd film. - First time actor plays Leiter for a 3rd time.
Probably missing more.

Someone on Facebook suggested this earlier song as something indicative of what she might do. I stand corrected about her diction (I had only really heard Bad Guy, which is admittedly catchy but struggle to understand the lyrics at times). Lana Del Rey vibes.
I guess the best we can hope for is a DAD-esque track (just to reiterate I quite like DAD's theme song), or maybe, maybe even a song as great as TWINE. Worst case scenario is another Alicia Keys catastrophe.

I'm reasonably optimistic about Eilish doing the title track. May be surprised to hear that coming from a fogey like me.

Can't wait for Craig's 'toeing the company line' *She's a very exciting artist, it's fantastic news* statement.
What he actually means - 'I'm 51. What makes you think I listen to music made by a bloody teen?'

I know of her but know none of her music. It does unfortunately scream we're after the current zeitgeist in a not so subtle way much as the Zimmer announcement.
People point to the switch of going after pop artists in the 80's but that came about firstly because of record deals, then trying to match AOR , then Duran members making the first approach, then trying to repeat that success with A-Ha, then trying to get the big R&B market and so on...
But someone that young trying to make something important for the series? I don't buy it. However it would be extremely hard to be worse than Writing's on the Wall. I'm most afraid of it being a throwaway or something used as a new joke against the series that the current world doesn't seem to care about.

I think Eilish's 'image' certainly fits in with the current iteration of Bond: juvenile and dour.

Billie Eilish will sing at the Oscars... Could this be the reveal of her No Time To Die theme?
