| What a blast from the past, marketto! Welcome back. Indeed, I'm curious to see how Lashana will be used. I'm personally hoping for a MayDay/Bunt-esque henchwoman. |

| Also:
It's rumoured Bond 25 is headed back to Scotland (is this to contrast the Madeleine flashback? Will we see Bond as a young'n running about the place with Andrew and Dominque?)
David Dencik's character is a villain named Waldo and will be out in Jamaica shortly to begin shooting, suggesting he's involved very early on in the film.

| Lashana Lynch captioned her Instagram post as:
"Introducing Nomi".
Does that name have 'henchwoman' vibe to her? Better than 'Hinx' I suppose.

| Look, know I have a widescreen monitor but this sideways thing is overdoing it So Avengers: Endgame pulls in about $475m in the USA in 6 days and that's the big news...when that dust settles maybe then someone will notice Bond 25...no one cares about Craig's personal chef or temper tantrums on set. |

| Phoebe Waller-Bridge on Bond 25: "The film they've got is such an exciting story. It's just been a joy to work on." Her focus was to make sure the women in the film felt real, though goes on to praise the Craig-era Bond girls for being well drawn characters. Here's a podcast (Bond 25 is discussed at 53.45 mark): https://awardschatter.simplecast.fm/0abb5249 |

| Hadn't heard of her until she was announced as a Bond 25 writer, though I knew of Killing Eve. Hope she lives up to the hype. |

| Well drawn...wtf..how about NOT DRAWN AT ALL! The worst was Severine in SF. Former slave in the sex trade backstory then suddenly forced to shag Bond, then shot in the head by villain as a throwaway gesture. Sure that's a written character...but there's no characterization there!!! On second thought isn't that a bit like Solange in CR 06?
Well written...I would laugh if my heart were not so heavy for my poor Fleming heroines... |

| Now now, Severine seems like she's written by Fleming himself! She's a bird with a wing down, forced to put on a show to ensure Silva doesn't kill her. She isn't forced to shag Bond - she's drawn to him. Her death, as incorporated into the classic Bond/villain duel, serves so many functions in the story. Most prominently: show Silva means business, to demonstrate that while Bond's accuracy is fucked, his wits are still about him and deliberately misses to avoid potentially killing the girl himself.
The worst two are clearly Vesper and Madeleine, who have no character development whatsoever. Severine goes from enigmatic, traumatised operative of Silva's who finds a way out only to meet her untimely death. Doesn't get more Bondian than that! |

Didn't seem forced to me, she was't giving him that "I want to slap you" look afterwards. |

| BAZ: Bond 25 is being rewritten by comimittee. This includes Cary, Phoebe and Craig himself. Didn’t he learn after the debacle that is QOS that he is not a writer? Didn’t he admit it?! https://hmssweblog.wordpress.com/2019/05/09/bond-25-script-rewritten-by-committee-baz-says/ |

| What about the 3-4 mandatory action sets?
All this tra-la-la about script is annoying if after all this time, they are still making it up as they go along. |

| I don't even know if rewrite is the right word for it at this point. From the sound of things they barely have anything and are just winging it. An outline with dialogue made up on the spot, fantastic for a Bond movie. Really highlights how poor filmmakers they are that even being able to shoot in Jamaica doesn't get much in the way of creative juices flowing enough to get it together by now. If this film turns out as anything less than sloppy and put together with bits of old string and gorilla glue then I would be most surprised. |

| What can they get out of Jamaica that they haven't already done before with DN and LALD? As a location, it screams fan service as well as Craig wanting to do a Bond film where he's lying on a beach (something he's asked for since the days of QOS. Because all those gaps between films aren't enough to relax and rejuvenate). - bitchcraft wrote:

Crew reckon it's a "well polished shit show".
Good final line. "A reluctant Bond for a reluctant Bond." |

| I believe the next 2 Mission Impossibles are to be the last ... when they're done, perhaps EON should get Chris McQuarrie on board. Writing and directing exciting spy action-thrillers seems to come relatively easily to him. |

I don't mind the concept but I felt the whole execution was just horribly wrong. It felt like she was suddenly turned into the obligatory forgettable girl to shag in the first three reels who gets offed but after the buildup it just felt like someone shrugged in the writing room and said nah let's just dump her here to get a move on. It's thus like an empty riff on Tilly Masterson and Aki. - bitchcraft wrote:

I should clarify. I meant that scene only occurred because the script said to do it and it felt unmotivated-plus coming soon after her character explains her backstory it felt just a bit awkward to say the least. |
