One that I want to see.
It's at least interesting that someone is attempting this.
Anyone know if they shot on B&W film? It looks like they grayscaled it, so to speak.

Roscoe Arbuckle would be more interesting.

Definitely. One of the most foul crimes in the Hollywood history. Though if you were directing, you'd want to move away from ground already covered by THE BLACK DAHILIA.

Was any crime committed? Other than destroying Arbuckle's career, I mean.

Are you implying Rappe busted her own bladder? I mean, clearly she was a disturbed woman (if she were alive today she'd probably be diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder) - but I doubt she'd have the physical strength do such an act.

Well, as I understand it, there was no evidence of sexual activity, but she had a variety of what are euphemistically referred to as 'women's problems'. If Arbuckle was responsible for aggravating her condition, it would be the prosecution's job to prove intent.

Presuming it was a fair trial, of course.

Strikes me that Arbuckle was the victim here.

The yellow press certainly had a field day.
If it wasn't Arbuckle, Fred Fischbach seems the mostly likely suspect.

You clearly think Virginia Rappe was attacked, but where is there any evidence for that?

In the autopsy reports. IIRC, it stated that the bladder ruptured due to blunt external trauma. Mostly likely the result of an assault, or at best, a love making session gone wrong.

I suppose accidental injury has to be ruled out because it wouldn't make careers or sell newspapers.

Sadly today a film about the scandal would probably demonise Arbuckle, and have the screenplay approved by NOW. O Tempora, O Mores.
