| Yeah, I don't care what colour Perry White is so long as he embodies the character. Langella was awful, he was practically monotone and Fishburne plays it cool as well. Danny Glover would've been much better, hell, there are a lot of black actors who would've been better.
I will say I hope they modernize Jimmy Olsen a little though -- make him like a hipster kinda guy. As much as I like traditions the whole bow-tie 50s geeky thing they tried to do in Returns just did not work (it wasn't even consistent with Olsen in the Donner films).

| I think for a more modern approach they should go for the same kind of Jimmy shown in TAS. Geeky but not as much of a spaz. One thing that didn't mesh in SR was when Clark and Jimmy go to a bar to have a beer. Nothing wrong with that, except I don't see 50s bow tie geeky Jimmy going for a beer. |

| Frankly I just couldn't see how any "great metropolitan newspaper" could afford to keep someone like Jimmy on the payroll as portrayed in that movie. |

| You'd look that serious too if you'd just realised how damn stupid those tattoos are gonna look at 70. |

And because they realize that the only people willing to fuck them are frustrated teenagers. Well, the guy on the far right might not mind, though. |

| Huh. I actually liked Jimmy in RETURNS.
I'm curious as to how they'll address the whole issue of print being at about the place dinosaurs were 65 million years and six months ago. |

*sigh*
I was really hoping for brighter colors. It just looks like the SR costume except for the bigger S.
And the rape face. |

| Yeah, somebody went to the Chris Pine School of Facial Posing with the "I'm going to rape you while I'm taking a massive shit" face.
Hate the suit. What is it, snakeskin?
Is it just me, or is he half way to Dalton's badger cut?
Rapeface, snakeskin, badger cut. And Morpheus. |

| Other than the texturing (which has been done to death, Returns, Trek, Spidey) and the muted colours (which might just be the pic, the whole thing looks muted) I actually like the design. Looking at the cape, the S, and the belt, the whole thing is very close to the Golden Age Superman look of the 1940s, especially the S-shield, which resembles the version used before the offical "copyrighted" version came into use in the 1950s. |

| It looks almost exactly how I would expect Zack Snyder's Superman to look. And is there any good reason as to why the suit is that texture? |

| It's dark and srs.
I think it looks like snakeskin.
Why are filmmakers and studios afraid to make anything colorful these days? |

| http://www.chud.com/65700/supermans-new-get-up-is-no-hobo-suit/ So yeah, looks as if the first photo was pretty accurate about the color. Looking back the SR costume looks more appealing than ever, and I remember complaints about that suit being too dark! |

| A movie about a space alien from a planet that blew up who can fly. And red underpants are just too ridiculous. Yeah, the underpants are hokey, but the suit doesn't work without them. The design is thrown off. Even the mighty shield looks like it hasn't been washed in a year. It's got a piss color to it. People complain that fans bitch and moan. Why can't filmmakers just make Superman look like fucking Superman? Then fans wouldn't bitch and moan! If I had a son, I wouldn't mind him looking up to Chris Reeves' Superman. Guy was a hero of the first order. I mean on screen. Off screen he was hurt and did his best to carry on and helped people, and that's great. But the image he projected on screen was heroic. This guy? I wouldn't want my fictional son looking up to that guy. He looks like a greaser in a wetsuit. |

| What the hell is that shit on his torso and legs? And what is that supposed to be where his belt normally is?
I really thought Snyder would at least be true to the suit. Fans bitched over things about the SR suit that seem minor in comparison to this. I mean after complaints about that, did anyone really think more changes would fly?
I guess it just wouldn't be a tentpole comic book film without a costume that has fans bitching. That seems to be a ritual for every one of these movies. |

| On the one hand, you've got the 'new' Spidey suit actually seeing a return for the web-shooters ... and on the other, you've got that bloody awful-looking Supes suit.
Bring back the red 'overpants' ... I've no need to see the size of Superman's SuperBulge, thanks. |

| So it's no longer THE MAN OF STEEL, it's just MAN OF STEEL. I don't mind, though there could be a distinction between them.
Having seen WATCHMEN and loving it, I'm not so concerned about MOS. I'm still iffy on the cast and suit, but the general (heh, no pun intended) story, as far as I know it, seems promising enough.
Any word on whether they'll go the route of Jor-El having sent Kal-El to Earth as a conqueror? Maybe not, as Lara's in there. Who knows? Unless someone someone here knows.
It could be cool, and Clark Kent would go against it because of how he was raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent. I'd like Superman to stand up for "the American way" in it's best sense. I was annoyed that SUPERMAN RETURNS made it a point to ignor that. |
