Daniel Craig is a very private man, on screen and off. On film, he plays a journalist doing important investigative work, as well as the world's most famous spy; in real life, he does things like get married in super secret ceremonies. And as he tells British GQ, he's got good reason for all the secrecy; once you go Kardashian, you never go back.

"I think there's a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel," Craig tells the magazine. "You can't buy it back. You can't buy your privacy back. 'Ooh, I want to be alone. 'F*ck you. We've been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta, and now you want some privacy?'"

In case he wasn't clear enough that he was talking about the Kardashians -- hey, reality shows blend together -- he then emphasized his target.

"It's a career. What can I tell you?" he continues. "It is a career; I'm not being cynical. And why wouldn't you? Look at the Kardashians, they're worth millions. Millions! I don't think they were that badly off to begin with, but now look at them. You see that and you think, 'What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f*cking idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions?'"

In fact, Craig's comments are quite salient on a day when Kourtney Kardashian announced that she is pregnant... on the cover of Us Weekly.

Don't expect Craig to open up much, either; this summer, in an interview with Esquire, he was pretty defiant on the subject of personal publicity.

"This has become my way, it's as simple as that," he told the magazine. "I mean, since I've just become James Bond. And I think, you know, that means being something that people feel they own. And all of the sudden I'm getting magazine covers, when I got nothing for ten years before that. I say it's just pure luck. And doing covers, people interviewing me, and they want to know everything and I'm going, I'm not gonna f*cking tell you!"

Craig's secrecy serves him well when it comes to his film career. He has had to keep his mouth shut about "Dragon Tattoo," though he did rave to GQ about his co-star, Rooney Mara.

"Poor girl," Craig sympathizes. "She's not been allowed in the sunlight either, she's borderline anaemic. But she's incredibly sexy and incredibly beautiful underneath all that. That's what you discover, and [director] David [Fincher] was absolutely adamant that was what we needed to do to discover her, both as a character and an actress. I think that was a great decision."

Mara remembered the intense audition process in an interview earlier this fall with EW, saying that she had nearly had it with the entire thing before she was offered the role.

"At that point I was just super frustrated. I was like, 'You have to decide. Either you think I'm the girl or you don't. There's not much more I can do to prove it to you,'" she told the magazine. "I went in there sort of ready to fight. I was pissed. But David sat me down and gave me this long speech about the part. Then he handed me his iPad, and it had the press release on it. He said, 'I'm prepared to send this out. You have half an hour to let me know if you want the part.'"

Good on Craig. I've thought that for some time now, and the Kardashians are contributing to a decline in the general intellect for my generation.

I applaud his sentiments, if not the manner in which he expresses them.

As an aside, I really don't even know who the hell the Kardashians are. I suppose there's something to be said for walling one's self off from popular culture. Bond aside, that is.

I can relate. I really have managed to stay well clear of their antics. I hear one has a big butt and another one, or maybe the same one, got married to a basketball star, but the whole thing was a sham :affraid: One of them is named Kim, although I couldn't pick her out of a line-up and the others I think are her sisters. Under pain of waterboarding, that's all I could reveal.

Maybe Craig is pissed, that they are more famous than he is, even if many I suspect only know their names, and not what they do.

Daniel Craig: The Kardashians act like idiots

Daniel Craig is not a fan of reality TV.

The actor, who revealed his low opinions of the Kardashians in the January issue of British GQ, used some strong language to make his case.

Craig - the star of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" – tells the magazine that he values privacy. "I think there's a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel," he said, noting that, “you can't buy your privacy back.”

The privacy advocate secretly wed Rachel Weisz in June. Why did they keep the nuptials under wraps? “Because we didn't want it (expletive) up, because that would be sharing a secret.”

Which brings him to reality stars, including Kourtney Kardashian, who famously welcomed America into the delivery room in 2009.

“Ooh I want to be alone. (Expletive) you,” he starts, “We've been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta and now you want some privacy?"

The actor also comments on the allure of the Kardashians’ financial success: "You see that and you think, 'What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a (expletive) idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions?'”

Craig tries to soften the blow by adding, “I'm not judging it,” before correcting himself: “Well I am obviously. I'm probably going to get visited by people from New Jersey."

Did you not read the interview? Craig criticises the Kardashians for putting their private lives on display in a voyeuristic showcase, and then complaining that they never get any privacy and that their private lives are splashed across the tabloids. He, on the other hand, goes to considerable lengths to protect his privacy. Where Kim Kardashian spent $10 million on her televised wedding, Craig and Rachel Weisz managed to keep their entire ceremony secret from the paparazzi, and only annouced it after it happened. He's not the one complaining about photographers following him around ten minutes after he invited them to do it.

Also, if Craig is a celebrity, then he is a celebrity on merit. Can anyone recall what Kim Kardashian did to become famous in the first place?

Everytime I see a photo with Craig smoking I shake my head because that will never be seen in his Bond pictures.

She made a sex tape with the brother of R&B singer Brandy and apparently allowed him to urinate on her. If he hadn't been Brandy's brother and she hadn't have been the daughter of one of OJ Simpson's lawyers in his murder trial this tape would've been relegated to the discount bin of your local XXX porn store.

And I don't think they're idiots because that implies that they are innocent, passive victims in all of this; instead, they are whores. They have traded their privacy and their souls for money and fame.

The first definition may fit the family, as they are completely past all moral sense and act like fools, but there is also will and cunning involved. They love to play the fame game and then gripe and complain when their "privacy" is "invaded". Kim Kardashian is the same whore who not only allowed Ray J to piss all over her during her sex tape and also posed nude for Playboy, but then had the unmitigated gall to cry a river of tears on her show when one of the magazines that did a photo session with her used pictures that she felt made her look like a slut :roll:

I find DC a Fercking idiot to really give an opinion on the Kardasians. He is the one preaching privacy and cannot see how other folks make other decisions, which is their fair choice.
That I do not watch the K. show is simply because I find those realityshows a waste of time and know that they are faked in order to make "great television".

I must admit having seen the Kim in action live movie, and decided that I would not throw her out of the bedroom, only the camera. :*e*:
