| I know this belongs in Fan Media, but seeing as the site is new and no one really goes there I hope nobody minds my taking the liberty of posting this here instead. If it is any trouble, please let me know.
This is a thread for a follow up to the previous audio drama we did based on Casino Royale (2007) If you plan on auditioning, please leave a message telling me so in the thread so I have a rough idea of how many auditions I can expect. Thanks!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Circus-13 Productions is proud to announce the return of James Bond in an audio adaptation of Ian Fleming’s Goldfinger. Following on the heels of the critically acclaimed Casino Royale (2007) Goldfinger finds James Bond pitted against Auric Goldfinger; a cruel, clever, and frustratingly careful criminal.
A cheat at Canasta and a crook on a massive scale in everyday life. The sort of man James Bond hates. So it’s fortunate that Bond is the man charged by both the Bank of England and MI5 to discover what this, the richest man in the country intends to do with his ill-gotten gains – and what his connection is with SMERSH, the feared Soviet spy-killing corps. But once inside this deadly criminal’s organization, 007 finds that Goldfinger’s schemes are more grandiose – and lethal – than anyone could have imagined. Not only is he planning the greatest gold robbery in history, but mass murder as well.

| Just a reminder: This is for fun, not a deathly serious production. So if you are hesitant, feel free and give it a shot. It is just for some fun and to make your favorite characters come to life! |

| Yeah, Marketto made it up one day and I saw it on the forum and had to use it. It is a quite interesting take on it. I probably ruined it by throwing the title of the show on it. But I thought it was something different. |

| Cheers! Thanks for the support!
 Update
Just finalized the pre-title sequences. I scrapped the original one I had. I want a bare-bones basic approach to this show. Casino Royale was poorly structured in terms of plot and running time. Together, it was clunky and did not flow at all. The key to this show is removing as much of Bond's personal narration as possible- a key flaw for Royale. We also will try to avoid being forced to use an outside announcer like Old Time Radio Shows.
The original one was quite a few pages; clunky. This one is stripped down to the core. Two minutes at best. Hopefully we can approach the show in this fashion. I'm starting to get excited about the project, I think this will turn out somewhat well. I hope! |

Do you mean two hours? Two minutes :affraid: I think I will audition for Leiter, Tanner and Hawker. Different voices, obviously. I hope some more people get involved in this. Give it a whirl! |

| I was referring to the pre-title sequence. We did have one in Royale but it was a lengthy 6 minute M briefing. These will only be a quick sequence.
The show itself I can't comment on the running time as the script is still in progress. Royale was just shy of two hours. Not really sure of the formattingof the episodes yet, it will be worked out better once the script is finished. I would assume it would be in the same ball park of an hour and a half to two hours. |

| We're going to expand the deadline for auditions to April 30, 2011. That will give everyone an extra two weeks to participate for those who are interested.
Following that schedule: Casting should be announced - with the exception of small roles/extras- by May 15th and recording under way by the end of May, early June. |

| Sorry for the lack of updates. But my job has kept me busy all month. Unfortunately, the start of production got delayed by a good month, but recording will begin in a few days.
The cast has been announced. Timm Gillick will be returning as James Bond and Jobe GDG will be returning as Felix Leiter. Since Casino Royale was released way back in 2008 and finding it impossible to get in touch with some people years later, a new group of people will be put in the role of M and Miss Moneypenny.
James Bond- Timm Gillick Auric Goldfinger- Felix Orion Felix Leiter- Jobe GDG Pussy Galore- Emily Gillick Tilly Masterson- Gwendolyn Jensen- Woodard Oddjob/Mr. Solo- Brandon McAllister Hawker- David Cole Miss Moneypenny -Helen Quigley Smithers - Johnny Natrium
Recording will begin around August 15 and most likely will run through the end of November 2011 being ready for a Christmas 2011 release date.
I have not decided on the format of the show. It might be released in episodes like Royale was or it might all be released at once. I'm waiting until the show is completed before deciding so I can edit it to have a good pacing. Royale plodded on quiet a bit.
More updates coming in the next month. |

| I was just scanning the cast list, and this was my interior monologue: 'Johnny Natrium, sure... Helen Quigley, alright! Jobe GDG, very good choice... WHAT? No Smitty Lipschitz?' Looks like I didn't make the cut. TBH Moore, I'm glad you spared me embarrassing myself in front of a wider audience. Any BB&B members make the cut besides Jobe? Your editing strategy sounds good. Write & record everything, then decide what's needed. That way you have a lot of options. I found 'Casino Royale' difficult to get into. Has 'Timm Gillick' improved his James Bond at all? I recall thinking he didn't sound very British, and that his putting on a deep voice seemed to distract him from things like proper inflection. |

| Unfortunately, Casino Royale is more of an audiobook then a proper radio drama, so it is very tedious. I've learned from those mistakes (I hope!).
As for BB&B members, I think Jobe is the only one who made it
As for Timm, I suppose time will tell when we start to record. I picked Timm mainly for the fact that he didn't try to put on the fake, heavy British accent. Too many shows get caught up in that and I think it sounds awful. It has been 3 years, so I've learned a lot as a producer and Timm as an actor, so hopefully this one turns out well.

| Update:
Nothing has happened yet. Too be honest I have been so busy with work that we haven't started recording. What can you do?
Hopefully things will get together and run smoothly starting November. Highly, highly unlikely this will make the planned Christmas release date. So probably early 2012 is the best bet. |
