| I'd say Khanners is right.
I remember seeing a gallery of mugshots from the 1920's. The lot of 'em were in jackets and ties. It's sad that criminals from presumably poor backgrounds could dress better than cashed-up kids today. |

| Actually ironing your clothes is usually a good start, which seems to be a stage alot of people don't get past.
Snagged a leather bomber jacket for $200 today. Reduced from $880. Not a bad bargain. |

As I'm sure has been said for many generations. And I suspect whoever said it, whenever they said it, was right. Pajamas in public? Jeans worn at mid-thigh? C'mon, Jack. Even you should be willing to admit that Americans are sinking to new lows in tastlessness. It's gotten to the point that if you want to be a rebel you have to dress nicely and forego tatts and piercings. |

| I won't defend many of this generation's fashion preferences, but it is one of those things on which the younger generation and older generation will never see eye-to-eye. |

| Thought I'd put together a general thread for anything related to men's and women's style. I also wanted to throw a question out to you folks, rather than relying on Yahoo! Answers. I acquired a new, gray suit recently. I'd like to wear vest with it, and it didn't come with one, so I'm wondering how I should go about matching a vest with this suit? Should I just hope to find a vest that comes close to matching the color/pattern of the suit, or should I go with a different color vest altogether? Not quite sure what to do here. Or maybe I should scrap the vest idea altogether, so it doesn't look like a Frankensuit. |

| If it's for a formal/business environment, you should probably try and match it. Maybe take your suit to a tailor and see what they can do for you.
If you intend to wear it in a more casual setting, then grey-on-grey might look a bit stuffy, in which case you can try out different vest colours to see what compliments the suit. |

| My personal view is since the suit itself is grey - a neutral colour - you can get away with whatever colour vest you want. Provided you wear a white shirt and your tie isn't overly patterned. As a general rule, you only want one really bold colour in any outfit. If the rest of your suit is neutral (for example, grey suit pant and jacket, black tie, white shirt) there is no reason you couldn't get away with even a yellow or a green vest.
Dependent of course, on the fabric and pattern used on the jacket as well as the vest. These things are complicated. |

| It fucking is, isn't it? Best thing was it was pretty cheap (i.e. under $500). Though Saks don't sell it anymore, I was so happy with it I wrote a review on their site: - Quote :
- Great little watch that's well worth the price. Looks great with anything whether you're dressing up or down. No garrish logos or features. Just a simple stylish design that looks great, doesn't stand out like a brick on your wrist and tells the time.

| Anyone like rock apparel? I imported 40 of these, various Iron Maiden hoodies, and sold all in one day. Easy way to snag $500+ in profit without breaking a sweat, plus Mr. Dog looks hot in his 3 XLs. I have another shipment coming in from the UK. |

| Just started shopping at TK Maxx. Their slogan "Big Labels Small Prices" pretty much says it. |

| I've purchased a few more watches lately, all mid-range stuff (I can't afford to shell out the big bucks). They've been selected more for looks than durability, so the brands aren't of the sort that watch collectors would genuinely admire (though, from what I understand, as far as fashion watches go, Kenneth Cole utilizes good movements, and they do come with lifetime warranties that are upheld with great customer service). And I figured I might as well spring for something modeled on the Rolex Submariner. After browsing a few different models (Seiko, Orient, Alpha), I settled on the Invicta 8926. While I gather the brand isn't a favorite among watch aficionados, there seems to be a consensus that they got this model right, and the price was very, very appealing: |
