| Designing 007: 50 Years of Bond Style, will display five decades of gadgets, sets and cars featured in James Bond films. The exhibition is to celebrate the film franchise’s 50th anniversary, promising to showcase five decades of gadgets, sets, costumes and cars, along with the blueprints, drawings and models that went into creating them. “It’s the unseen Bond,” said the show’s curator, fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave. “We’re showing the complete scope of design of a Bond film, which has never been done before.”

| CNN has Barbican pictorial. This looks like a must-see exhibition. It's in England now, but it will be touring the world over the next three years. On display, for all to see is UrsulaAndress' famous Crab Key white bikini, alongside Craig's infamous blue snuggers. They live :affraid: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/07/06/world/europe/james-bond-50-years/index.html?hpt=hp_c2 Visit the ice palace, accompanied by a montage of 007's snow adventures. The Hasselblad gun from LTK, which only Dalts can fire. Experience what Bond awoke to, after Oddjob knocked him out for making that earmuff crack about the Beatles Meet Sean up close and personal in Switzerland, as he takes a break from tailing GF and running Tilly off the road. Nick Nack has donated his deceased boss' little golden gun |

| Man, I'd love to see this exhibit. I wish I was in the UK.
Here's a video The Barbican posted about designing Bond's looks since DR. NO: https://vimeo.com/45066851
And another, titled Designing Bond's World. This features the legendary Sir Ken Adam. https://vimeo.com/45067313 |

| This display is so wrong. As much as I would love tospend hours gaze longingly upon Honey's white bikini, transporting myself back to Crab Key's tropical island paradise, and the sight of Andress rising magnificently from the surf, the blue snuggers immediately-adjacent ruin the reverie. Couldn't they have been stuck in a corner somewhere along with Rog's safari suit and wide-tie collection?! Or better idea - occupying the Mathis dumpster display. |

| That exhibition is something else but bloody hell the snuggies by the bikini doesn't look right.
Dare I hope there's a mockup of the barn from OHMSS or something spectacular from the film? |

| That looks incredible. The girl taking a pic of Sean's Bond looks like Camille from the back... |

Yes, I though the same thing at first. I wonder if there is a time-limit for staring at the bikini. " Sir, it's been an hour now, time to move along." "But, but, Ursula Andress' breasts actually occupied that fabric, and she came out of the water in them....and....." |

| Those are great videos posted above by Control - the offical Barbica promo videos. We learn from Lindy Hemming that Craig's Captain Tightpants look is by design.
From the video comments section:
had no idea - sartorial barbarian that I am - that the way each suit fitted each Bond (from Connery to Craig) was tailored (if you will) to each character's persona, so that Brosnan's suit fell splendidly on a svelte body of an international businessman-type, while Craig's seemed visually tight, "befitting" (see what I did there?) a secretive time-bomb coiled, always, inside, like a snake
The second video offers some real interesting Ken Adam insights as well as background on the origins of the "little golden gun" |

[url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18727140 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18727140[/quote[/url]] This narrated-by-Lindy Hemming, video slide presentation of the Barbican show is a must watch. I love the shot of the collection of Blofeld cats, at about the 3:12 mark, each in their own little cage. I've never seen that shot before. |

Yes this is bogus marketing. They have overstepped. Hopefully they can get back to basics. ie find a reasonable price and invite everyone to come. simple. |

| Honey's bikini and the blue snuggers are coming to town in October! If wire services are running stories in the fall about a man camped in front of the Ursula Andress bikini display, apparently in a trance, and not responding to calls to leave, guilty as charged. I have in the past spent close to a half hour staring at Bobby's Orr's game-worn Boston Bruins jersey on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame, so I can imagine what effect the actual film-worn Honey Ryder bikini might have. http://www.toronto.com/article/721081--james-bond-exhibit-comes-to-tiff-bell-lightbox "The steel teeth worn by Richard (“Jaws”) Kiel in The Spy Who Loved Me. The Anthony Sinclair raincoat worn by Sean Connery in Dr. No. The poker table from Casino Royale. The storyboards for Diamonds Are Forever. The attaché case given to Bond in From Russia With Love. These are a few of James Bond’s favourite things. And they’re coming to the TIFF Bell Lightbox next fall. Starting on Oct. 26, Agent 007’s artifacts will spend three months in Toronto celebrating the 50th anniversary of the secret agent’s enduringly popular reign on movie screens around the world. On Wednesday, TIFF CEO Piers Handling and Lightbox artistic director Noah Cowan were to announce details of the North American premiere of an exhibition called “Designing 007: 50 Years of Bond Style,” which will run from Oct. 26 through Jan. 20, 2013 in the main-floor gallery of the Lightbox. |
