Haven't come across a review yet which likens Skyfall to Bourne and faults it accordingly....

From what I've heard in the trailer and samples, the dialogue sounds like a real improvement over the last two.

The top shot of Craig is pure Bourne Identity, as is the shabby demeanour and unBondian attire. All it's missing is Clive Owen hiding in the grass.

I'd rather him just lose the location. One of the few negative reviews of the film pointed out the climax as weak, so I'm guessing it's just the usual nu-EON shitty shootout between Bond and villain, this time in Bourne-esque grassy fields.

The reviews have mentioned STRAW DOGS, but not a single one has thrown up that Bourne comparison.

Can't imagine STRAW DOGS with Dench's M and the usual terrible P&W writing though, for some odd reason.

Of course it's what I fear, but I'm at least going to give SKYFALL a chance. You seem hell-bent on writing it off before its release date. I bet you're going to go into the cinema no matter how good or bad the film is, and convince yourself that it's an abomination, just so you can say to us "I told you so."

Almost as if ever since we lost contact with Charles Vine, you've decided to fill his place as Nu-Bond prognosticator, anti-EON martyr, and prophet of doom. You've got too much of a reputation now as that to open your mind to the possibility of SKYFALL being half decent. You've always been an iconoclast like me, but this is Laz. on steroids. Maybe you're making up for that fact that this is a smaller forum, but because of that it's harder to take.

SKYFALL ain't just Craig, Miccoli and Purvis & Wade. What about Mendes, Deakins, Newman, Bardem, Fiennes etc?

All of the above are at the whim of that tyrant, unfree to fully express themselves. And, even if not, drama directors have been wrongheaded choices for the majority of this tenure, something else I've made no secret of.

We'll see.
