I love the taste in your mouth the next morning after chain smoking and drinking rum, bourbon or whiskey.

I've only ever smoked marijuana a few times, and enjoyed it a great deal. I never plan to smoke tobacco, to be honest. I just don't see any upsides to it.

I enjoy it too, to be honest, and I'm a strong advocate for legalization. The pros outweigh the cons by a substantial margin. I think it's one of the most therapeutic substances on earth, and it's had more benefits on my depression and anxiety symptoms then years of taking pills ever did.
But I suppose that's for another thread.

I hate the smell of smoke, and wouldn't pay money to ruin my lungs, but I must say that I envy this quasi-masonic bond that smokers seem to have. I mean, walk up to a person on the street and ask for a light, you're much more likely to get a friendly response than asking them for anything else.

Bloody hell.
PS--I've smoked a pipe, smoked cigs and cigars. Right now I smoke nothing except the odd slabbo ribs.

Cigars and pipes mostly just ruin your mouth, which I why I also wash my mouth and teeth extra carefully, to purge out those carcinogens. Sadly, you can't clean your lungs, so avoid fags.
And there's lots of varieties and nuances to smoke.

They were the masters and I am not worthy. (This clip is not for lala, Oppers, Tux, Khan or others of a delicate nature. Rave will love it.)

Smoking is the bane of my existence. I've smoked off and on for the last 17 years. I'm off now, hopefully for good. It's depressing being enslaved to a habit that compels you to spend roughly $10/day to slowly kill yourself. After a while you can almost feel your proverbial life-meter decreasing in fits and starts with each and every puff. Good riddance I say.

I smoked as a teen - even when I wasn't drinking. But haven't had a cigarette since. And that's many many years.
I did smoke pot regularly but don't do that anymore either. :(
I do smoke the occasional cigar and thoroughly enjoy it. I have two cases from Cuba that I could not sell so I will be enjoying some Esplendidos on the beach this summer for sure. (edited to remove non-working smilie link)
Daniel has a pipe and pipe tobacco but doesn't smoke it - I have though... I love smoking through the pipe.

All I smoke is 3-4 cigars per year. Just on special occasions.

That's how it used to be alright. I've modernized my ways since. Nowadays I light one up on Putin's Birthday, Unity Day (aka The Day We Kicked Out Those Meddlesome Poles in 1612), and Gazprom Appreciation Day.

Ah, Gazprom. Between the Russians and the Americans, my BP shares are going up in smoke.
You guys are stealing my pension.

the only time I ever enjoyed smoking was using a hooka (sp?) (water) pipe in Egypt which was a revelation of smoothness
just as well they aren't available in New Zealand or I might be in trouble

I actually own a genuine one Seve, and I have to agree, 'soothing' is the perfect word for it. It's so much more flavorful than regular tobacco, and better for you if I'm not mistaken. So many years of culture and tradition come with it, it is indeed...a revelation.
And kitty, why the sad face? ;). Smoking weed is just a part of growing up for a lot of teens, including me. I don't intend on making it a life habit. That being said, I know a lot of successful adults who still indulge once in a while. It's a perfect way to kick back and forget the world.
Yeah, it was actually like that the first few times

Can proudly boast I haven't smoked in about 6 years, and even then it was on a casual basis.
I can think of much better things to slip between my lips.

The sad face was just because I wish I found more time for it.

Quit smoking more than 10 years ago when my oldest was born. Haven't regretted it ever. I am really glad I quit smoking, except for the gain of weight. :*kh*:

I picked up smoking again a few weeks ago.
It's great, but paying $11.45 a pack isn't. Fucking liberals.

holy crap, $11.45! You need to find an indian reservation nearby. Here is central PA a pack is around $5.95 or something. It's a little over $60.00 a carton.
I quit a few years ago for about 8-9 months. I used chantix, and it worked very well. I started up again out of bordom.
