I don't really go in for this type of fan bollocks, but I'll do it because most (Empire and Total Film, namely) haven't done a very good job at it.



Possibly the final shot of the film. Bond staring out at the London skyline with the union jacks flying at full mast. *Cue Bond theme or Adele.



Bond goes for a jog in Regent's Park with the BT Tower in the background.

Bond discovering a dead body in Turkey, before the car, market, bike and train action Notice the louvered shutters. As Shrublands at Cb.n noted, not exactly features of your typical Scottish manor house. Since this is cut with the "Skyfall" question, I'm guessing it's someone connected to the operation. Silva's picking them off one by one, here using a hired gun - Patrice.

Bond approaches the Golden Dragon Casino in Macau on a boat, all recreated at Pinewood. Look out for the lit up dragon heads that Lazenby. said looked like "cheap inflatable filth, more belonging of Brian Potter's botched kiddies funfair on Phoenix Nights than a multimillion dollar movie production."



The now infamous "Eve Shaves Bond" scene from the call sheets. Don't look so bad.



Captain Tightpants runs toward a camera dolly on a busy Whitehall street.



Extreme ways are back again... Bond hits the water after a literal "sky fall" following the train crash on Varda bridge (taken from Jeffrey Caine's unused ending for the train sequence in GOLDENEYE). Cut to titles.



Patrice falls to his death from the 57th floor.



Bond and M look onto Skyfall through the mist while he talks of his childhood.



Silva triggers a bomb with his radio transmitter causing a tube train to derail and crash through the sewers. Don't worry, it's Not In Service. No commuters were harmed.

Incidentally, in the Captain Tightpants shot we see emergency vehicles in the background as Our Hero runs the opposite direction. Has an act of terrorism just occurred?

I think it looks like he's approaching the camera, not Skyfall.


May not be bloody water, but light from the dragons? Or lights of some kind.

Possibly on the tube. Although that train isn't in service, there could have been many killed in its path.

Do we know exactly what throws Bond off his game? We know he's presumed dead after the PTS, but that alone wouldn't necessarily put him where he appears to be, given this trailer.

Now, maybe, just maybe (and I'm only floating this as a vague possibility), Mendes doesn't think much of QUANTUM OF SOLACE, regards it as a missed opportunity (and perhaps Craig, Broccoli and Wilson now feel the same way), and views SKYFALL as the real followup to CASINO ROYALE. Hence, QUANTUM OF SOLACE doesn't exist in this Mendes Bondverse, and the way is now clear for him to present a hurting (from the events of CASINO ROYALE) and still-unformed Bond Begins-type 007. Sort of how one can choose to view DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER as a sequel to YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, ignoring ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE.

Not me. I don't want to see that. I don't want to revisit Vesper. IMHO, that relationship doesn't even come off as well anyway. No thanks to some vomit-bad dialogue about little fingers and armour being stripped away. Vesper is dead, and I say keep her that way. By all means, throw in a reference in this or some future film (like the Tracy references in TSWLM, FYEO, LTK, and TWINE), but for the love of Krishna don't build a film around it.

CR and QOS happened. It's clear that BDSM (Babs, Dan, Sam, and Mickey) don't view QOS too highly (Mendes avoids mentioning it while praising CR), but I don't want this as some "true follow-up". I say it's been years since CR/QOS, and Bond is a bit older and more experienced. No more Bond Begins please.

The PTS shows James Bond waking up from the nightmare that was QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

In his hotel room, Marc Forster enters, folds Bond's socks and replaces his towels.

Not that I've heard, but maybe it's possible looking at the shot list. Bodn may be out of the picture for a stretch of time after the title sequence. But I don't have much to go on.

I agree that Bond standing over the London skyline is probably the last shot of the film, seeing how both Bond and Eve are on the rooftop with the mystery box in the very last scene. What's confusing to me is the shot of Bond's eyes coming out of the darkness. Stylistically, it looks way too flashy to be an actual shot in the movie. Maybe it's some kind of transition or dissolve coming out of the gunbarrel?

What's still the mot baffling to me is what the hell Skyfall actually is. It's obviously something that Bond knows about and upsets him, enough to go off the grid or be sent on a forced vacation from the service. We all suspect that Dench will probably catch a bullet at the end, but for some reason i think there's more to this big twist than just that. There has to be a reason why everyone involved is keeping so quiet about the story.

Given their comments in interviews and such, this seems unlikely, I think. They've talked about how Bond has "grown up" in this one, is a bit more mature and seasoned. I think that whatever puts Bond off his game happens in the pre-title sequence or in the events immediately following.

That said, I do think they're ignoring QUANTUM OF SOLACE, more or less, but more in the way that you can see CASINO ROYALE as the full origin story, believe Bond became a seasoned 007, and then SKYFALL picks up some years later.

No. And I don't think the footage supports it, either. It looks like whatever happens to 007 is loosely inspired by Fleming's YOLT/TMWTGG, but is hardly a straight replication.

No silliness about ignoring films, please. There was a very specific reason OHMSS was written out of continuity, conversation and even existence for many years, and it wasn't because it was a bad film.

Just give me a nice movie. Want to set it more than four years after QOS. Fine. Want more to have happened to Bond that has weiried him. Fine.

But please, let us know what that is. Give us an idea Bond has been saving the world for years after QOS, and how.

But do not make Bond a burn out after a couple of jobs - one involving playing cards (with, I accept, the side aspect of a goolie beating and the loss of his "love) and then saving the water supply of Bolivia. This man is meant to be, if not rock hard and emotionless, then coolly nochanlant, surely. He's not REALLY an angsty disaster who's gone from a naively arrogant 38 year old meathead to a wreck in only a couple of jobs...?

I just made the connection between operation and home name with GoldenEye. Not sure if it's inspired by that or not. If I'm late to the party on figuring that out, please know that I'm from the South.
