| Bond has had a long tradition of pairing two older films for a rerun at the cinema. While that practice is now long dead due to home video, it now allows us to create our own doube/triple bills with DVD's at home. So, here's a thread to make and debate your own.
Examples:
From Russia With Love/Thunderball (a potent mix of sex, action, SPECTRE, and Terrence Young) On Her Majesty's Secret Service/For Your Eyes Only (The two combined develop Bond more as a character than most of the other films combined)

| FRWL/OHMSS would be pretty nice.
TLD/LTK or OP/TLD.
Any combination of DN, GF, and TB. |

| I actually saw DN and FRWL as a double bill a few years back....Only problem was, they showed FRWL first....That didn't make much sense to me, but it was still awesome.
Obviously CR and QoS are easily paired....
For one that's slightly less obvious, I think FYEO and LTK would pair nicely, what with their revenge-like themes.... |

| Last year I bought tickets to see a double billing of GOLDFINGER and THUNDERBALL.
Unfortunately I couldn't go so I had to sell em. And the ironic thing is that I could have gone to an earlier showing of GOLDFINGER elsewhere. |

Indeed. Watch 007 warn about the futility of seeking revenge in the first film, then watch him contract his own advice 8 years later. I would say: TB/MR-Both the 4th Bond film for each actor. Both larger-than-life big Bond epics with scores by Barry, spectacular final battles between 2 competing armies, carnival scenes and a delightfully superconfident feel. YOLT/OP-Both actors' penultimate EON Bond film, both send Bond to exotic Asia, both involve WWIII plots. DAF/TLD-Both feature a leading lady who's introduced early on and stays with Bond for the rest of the adventure with little or few secondary girls. Both feature pre-title sequences of a tough Bond seeking revenge and a bikini-clad woman he says "Bond. James Bond." too. Both involve diamond smuggling and Bond deceiving the leading lady who's being unwittingly used by the villain. Both of the main villains tend to be fopish compared to other main villains in the series. OHMSS/TSWLM: Both feature the heroine in the pre-title sequence, both involve skiing, both have bald megalomaniac villains, both involve a secret agent's loved one being killed, the latter film directly references the former(Anya directly brings up Tracy's death for the first time since 1969 in the series). This would have worked even better as a double feature if SPECTRE had been in TSWLM's story as originally intended.

| TMWTGG + TND was a fantastic double bill I did. OHMSS + FYEO + TWINE was amazing as a triple bill, with intertwining themes, as well as references to one another.
I'd love to do one day:
FRWL + FYEO LTK + QOS GF + TMWTGG + GE |

| I imagine seeing Goldfinger and Thunderball on the big screen is something different, anyone here seen them together? I remember an interview with Peter Hunt where he said some of the sets (I think he specified the set for the the scene with Smithers) don't look even close to how they do on the big screen on home video. Of course, I think this was like the late 80s... - ambler wrote:

I saw one of those with Colly and Isis ... like a year ago or so. We saw DN first though - the only issue was that FRWL was partly edited so we didn't see the whole thing. it was a great combination. And Colly didn't like Isis and I laughing ... |

Had I known I would stay at Mi6 for as long as I did, I would have chosen a different moniker. Hence the different screen name on here. |

I would have chosen Stockslivean, which I've been using everywhere else for awhile including at the late Studio B. But decided to stick with this name so it would be familiar for most that left MI6. |

Anyway he mentioned how close Klebb was to Tatiana ... and from then on it was lesbian jokes every now and then. That's all? No wonder colly was getting annoyed Fae, as to ideas, let me clue you into my thought process when I walk into, or even think of, a room. 1. Who would I do? 2. What would I do? 3. Where could I do it? I assume this is the same with any other bloke, at least those still in puberty. Probably a better answer than the first one I typed, what's the rule with family friendliness here anyways? |

| I thought it would be something like that. It always seems to be that way - but that still doesn't tell me the scope of your ideas, Vesper.
We'll leave it there. |

| Double or triple-bills that would work well IMO
DN - FRWL - TB TLD - LTK OHMSS - GE
The last one would be a great two-punch of fantastic action. |

| An eclectic one tied together by a quirky rumor.
Big Red One Dazed & Confused
Supposedly Fuller liked Linklater's movie so much, he actually considered directing a sequel as his last ever project. |

Check out the Baker St. and tits thread to find out more on that. Well, I would love to see On Her Majesty's Secret Service on the big screen. I suppose, I'd rather see that on its own and then have a triple bill of Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Thunderball than have any of those played with On Her Majesty's Secret Service. If I had to choose one of those to go with it though, it would be Dr. No. And Dr. No would be first. Maybe a death duo theme would be ok though... Casino Royale and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. |

FRWL - TB - OHMSS
TLD - LTK
TLD - LTK - GE
Those are the good ones I can think of at the moment. |
