I love intros, whether it's film or television. Well... I like good intros. Sets the tone and all that jazz. With TV shows, they used to have some great intros, and the quality has largely gone down- especially with regard to music. But when that music came on, there was a wonderful feeling like seeing good friends again and that you were about to have a good time in familiar settings.
So this is a thread to talk about great intros, or just your favorites. New or old, good or so-bad-they're good.
I'll kick it off with a few of my favorites...
Never watched the show much, but I adore this intro so much. My tastes can be a bit absurdist, and the cheese factor is set so shamelessly high here. Are they doing a musical? Loads of crazy S*** in there.
It's fabulous!!!!! Love Robert Wagner's expression. Ah, washed up stars of yesterday on a financial life- I mean, love boat.
Gotta get an obvious one outta the way...
Jack Lord is so cool he can turn around after he's already turned around.
Now I'll try to go more offbeat.
The awesome Nelson Riddle.
The awesome Henry Mancini. I like the theme from THE BOB NEWHART SHOW as well.
There are so many more that I love. I kept it American, but you guys know there is so much out there. Post 'em!

Hell yeah. Didn't realise I'd posted the earlier version as I didn't watch it beforehand.
The iconic Heather bikini shot.... Damn, shame my "unknown stuntman" wasn't ten years older when I first saw that. ;)
Damn, that was creepily foreboding back in the day... still atmospheric now. Love the intro and outro.

I cant believe theres someone else who watches the HART TO HART credits but not the show. I used to do that all the time just to hear that bit with Lionel Stander.
And I used to have Hawaii Fiev-O as my ring tone...
The Prisoner - my current ringtone. Awesomeness.
Underbelly Season 1 - the only one that mattered.
"its the famous Simon Templar!" - I love the original B&W credits.
The colour ones were a bit oddly kinky.

I doubt there is a great many people of my generation who do not have a fondness for both the MacGyver and A-team intros.

Mad Men. I think next month the 3th season started in The Netherlands. It look like a bit inspyred by James Bond titles. The series isn't very populair on Dutch tv, i think this is because the choose of the very late time of it, the seasons already be avaible on dvd. Season 4 is already avaible too. Another thing be that the series timeline is not the only thing what going backword and forwards, also this happend with the audio and music choose. The first seasons audio start with mono sound. The audio of the second season be a litle bit better but stil you must at the volume higher for the dialgue and that be also a litle bit of a problem with the music going lowder. In other words: The dialogue is to silence, whyle the music is hard.
Knight Rider The A-team
I saw the topic start take The Jetsons Family as example, in my opnion there always be that other family. The Flintstones.
As child i also saw this series, but also playing the game of

The intro to the original series of Survivors was brilliant at telling a story and/or selling a concept in a very short period and with a handful of pictures.
