I don't think this video has been posted here. If it has I apologise for the double posting. I quite enjoyed it. I have to admit, Babs does have it going on. She's a legit boss woman. I wouldn't give her any crap. She'd bag your balls pronto.

The video clearly exists to promote the pending big box blu-ray release.
Wilson's first answer is a waste of space. He says the blu-rays are great for those that can't get to the theatres to see the movies. Exactly what Bond movies can I watch in the theatre?! I've seen one lousy showing of GF in theatre in the last two years. Blu-rays and dvds are all we' ve got Mikey! You don't need to explain why they are handy to have.
Otherwise, I'm pretty much down with Babs here. She's looking slim and fit too.
I think she's got a handle on this franchise for a long time. I may not like the Craig pimping for femmynism bs, but otherwise, she does seem committed and capable of keeping this franchise going. She is her father's daughter after all. (yes I know, of course she's her father's daughter ;) )

Wow, tiffy. That's quite a volte face! If I didn't know better--and I don't!--I'd say you're smitten.
:)
PS--I occasionally detect a bit of a Brit accent from Babs.

Well she's looking good, I'll give her that. I'm more smitten though by her, "I'm running this show" vibe. I like doing work with such people. Things get done and people get paid on time too. I'm assuming a lot here, but I do like the vibe.
Babs always did have a nice caboose.

We'd make a great couple! I'd marry her for her cash in a heartbeat. I'd even put on a dress. Heels and a wig too. :drunken:

Which I don't begrudge her any. Her only job is to take the football that was handed off to her and not fumble it. In other words, all she has to do is not screw up. Like Kentucky Fried Chicken and Coca-Cola, there is a FORMULA for success and, more or less, she has followed it. But let's not pretend that she's some sort of visionary that is going to revolutionize the film industry. I'd suggest that Michael G. Wilson's contributions to the series have been much more important and profound than Barbara's.

If by contribution we mean innovation, I don't think I want to see any of Babs' contributions.

Suffice it to say that when they were writing the script for TWINE, they had a live-in model for Xenia Onatopp.

Say whatever you like about Babs with her obsession with the Cragster and her left-wing, femininst views. I personally am much more comfortable knowing that her as well as the rest of the Broccoli-Wilson family are in charge of the Bond franchise rather than just some random studio executive with a truck-load of cash who would most likely re-cast Bond as a "wise-ass muthafucka" working for the CIA and played by Will Smith.

I wouldn't rule that out even with Micolli in charge.

The series is in good hands, and kept within the family. This is true on the surface. The problem lies in the fact that they cannot define Bond as a character or his world, whether they're trying to do the film character or the man Fleming wrote of. This happened for all the Brosnan films, and have only increased with the new era. Dick Maibaum "got" Fleming and Bond, Peter Hunt understood what pacing Bond needed to work, and it was the direction of Terrence and Guy that defined the films themselves. It isn't so much the Bond actor but the team behind the surface and the story that defines the film. Ken Adam could make a bathroom appear out of this world, and John Barry could define Bond's mental state in a single note. The other thing that has really started to bother me is the fact that Harry NEVER gets mentioned anymore. Cubby did singlehandedly carry the series from '75 onwards, but when Harry left so did his fiery energy and huge imagination. This is felt in all of the successive films.
And oh god, these BDs. I've started threads on all kinds of forums detailing their issues and lack of reverence to the original theatrical appearance and sound. The work done is already outdated, only 11 were fully scanned from negatives, too much was de-noised and grain was too manipulated, the original color timing was completely thrown out and redone to appear modern and natural, the sound re-mixes are unnatural and completely unnecessary, and there are still errors throughout the series BDs from the Ultimate Edition DVDs.

So you're saying they paid god knows how much to get Lowery to do 4K scans on most of the important ones, but then trashed them with DNR and making the image middle-of-the-road like digital video?
Christ that's appalling. The DNR on the TREK movies is mega-horrible, but to be honest, most of them didn't look all that great anyway. THIS sounds like a new definition for desecration (which previously I guess went to the BR of PATTON.)

No it's not bad or anything with DNR but there certainly has been some manipulation of the image that was unnecessary. In fact I've even read that sometimes they would de-grain the picture and finish their work-then fly in grain from some other source and place it in the image-when it didn't even match!
These are all very subtle desecrations in picture and sound. Industry-wise no one believes that these are anything but the best the films have ever been. If you look at any video or film copy of the first 14 they look little to nothing alike.
