| So, yesterday evening Licence To Kill was on TV, and having read the book last month, I could finally watch it. My opinion? You'll remember I hated the book. I found it boring and unoriginal (Felix thrown in the sharks...). Well... the movie was awesome! One of the best Bond movies I've ever seen, and one I really enjoyed. I think this could easily make it in my top 5 Bond films. It was fantastic. I didn't get enjoyed so much from a Bond film since... uh... Goldeneye (my first one)? |

| Yeah, it's one I tend to watch on the telly whenever it's on....love the truck stunts at the end. Maybe because it's a real truck doing a real stunt and not CGI.... :drunken: |

| Well, yes, St George couldn't pass by without calling it Licence to Bore.
It's a fantastic Bond film, I don't ever really think of the various problems off-camera such as the budget and the locations. Dalton's on fine form, the villain is one of the best and from start to end it's excellent. |

I thought a Licence to Bore was what Kommandant Page issued to all his Mods... |

| I'm looking forward to watching LTK on the big screen in Toronto as part of TIFF's Bond 50th celebrations. Hopefully that'll feel like the first time. |

The escape from Wavekrest in the theater was probably one of the ten or twelve most exciting things I've ever experienced in a cinema (at least in terms of stuff happening on the screen. ) It wasn't the lobby scene in THE MATRIX or the last 35min of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS, but in terms of Bond films, it was FRWL-class entertainment for those couple of minutes. |

| Something I like about LTK is that Bond drives the action forward, as opposed to being carried around the world on the winds of the script. |

| Just rewatched this one (review in Lazenby.'s countdown thread).
In the end credits, I noticed that there is a warning about cigarettes, and its effects. Anyone else see it? And to those who think Bab's has the left wing political inclinations in modern Bond... ;)

| Yeah, I've noticed it.
Not as bad as modern Bond. I'd rather QOS's anti-imperialist, anti-American spiels were mere warnings hidden in the credits. :) |

| Makes you wonder where the warnings about dangling from moving oil-trucks while being shot at, almost getting thrown out of an in-flight seaplane, dismantling a ruthless drug dealer's whole organisation etc. got to . |

| My second favourite Bond film, or maybe tied in with my favourite, I've a very undecided sort of a fellow, but I love Licence to Kill so much, I remember renting the video, showing it to my mum telling her I wanted to take it and using my thumb to hide the '15' rating on the box, she was always a little conservative about what I watched when I was younger, unlike my dad who let me watch all sorts of action movies. I honestly think this is one of Eon's best and for a film that is remarkably of the 1980's, it's ageing very well. The script is superb, the villain one of the best, the moment Bouvier hands 007 a gun for his meeting with his 'uncle' one of the most downright sexiest things I've ever seen in a Bond film (I'm a Bouvier fan, so shoot me, with a gun from a thigh holster preferably) and the truck chase one of the best pieces of action filmmaking and editing to appear in any action movie of the time.
Yep, I think time has been very good to this one. |

| Back in 1989 seeing LTK at the cinema basically destroyed my obsession with James Bond (though to be fair it was about that time that I first noticed girls in my class had breasts and stuff, so other obsessions were ready ripe to replace 007), over the years though and safe in the hindsight that the violence and Dalton's odd haircut didn't actually kill the franchise I've grown to really like LTK. I like the fact that it uses so much of Fleming's LALD and that Tim really gets to expand on that angry vengeance look that was rather spoiled in TLD by him popping a child's balloon at the time. Pam and Lupe are both really hot and Sanchez is a fairly interesting baddie, though the best reason for enjoying LTK is that scene outside Hemingway's house when Bond and Hawkins argue about jurisdiction while behind them the weird bald guy in the pink shirt keeps walking backwards and forwards across the scene trying to get maximum screen time, if it was up to me I'd have him appear in every film doing that, he could be the extras equivalent of the MGW cameos. |

| Not to mention Hemingway House/MI6's Key West Safe House being a sanctuary for stray cats. What was that all about? An oblique reference to pussy galore? |

| Brown's M doesn't screw around ... he's quite prepared to have one of his security fire on even a trusted veteran agent like 007, and only stops another one from doing so because there are 'too many people' . |

would've been too much I suppose to have Dalton's Bond kick cats at pepole to distract from his escape. Maybe this house was SIS' relocation for all the cats Blofeld had after his 'disappearance' in DAF |

| One of my favourites of the non-Craig films, only recently saw it too. Timothy Dalton is a good Bond, much to my surprise. |
