- Omega Launch Limited Edition 'Skyfall' James Bond Watch

Omega open the waiting list for the James Bond 'Skyfall' edition of their Planet Ocean Seamaster watch
(PRWEB) September 26, 2012 This summer Omega, the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, announced the release of their limited edition Skyfall watch in recognition of the latest film installment in the iconic James Bond series.
Omega Watches predict huge demand for their latest Bond watch with only 5,007 pieces available worldwide.
Contemporary Bond actor Daniel Craig personally chose the Planet Ocean Seamaster when deciding on his look for 2008’s release ‘Quantum of Solace’ and the new model is the seventh Omega piece to feature in a James Bond movie. The brand is one of just a handful of select luxury manufacturers that have maintained such a longstanding relationship with the Bond franchise. Design-wise, its Bond connection is clear through the ‘007’ which sits neatly at the 7 o’clock marker and the legendary agent code also appears on the bracelet’s driver’s clasp. The watch will be delivered in a special presentation box, adding to its collectible value.
Being a true driver’s watch, the 42mm bezel features a chromium nitride diving scale. The indexes applied to the matte brushed dial are coated with a white super-LumiNova paint that emits blue light, as do the facetted rhodium-plated polished hands. The minute hand glows green, mirroring the dot on the diving bezel. The visibility of these features enables divers to keep track of every essential second beneath the water. As with the whole Planet Ocean 600M range, the timepiece is water resistant up to 600 metres.
Fans can expect to see the new Skyfall edition on the actor’s wrist when the movie is released nationwide in the UK on October 26 next month.
Omega watches have been integral to James Bond’s adventures since 1995, when they first appeared on the wrist of Pierce Brosnan in his debut Bond movie Goldeneye. Watches have made memorable cameos in Bond films for decades, from the moment Albert ‘Cubby’ Broccoli first provided Sean Connery with his own personal Rolex Submariner in the very first Bond film ‘Dr No’. Fans of ‘Live and Let Die’ might also remember two other standout timepieces: Roger Moore’s escape executed with help from the Rolex Submariner and its rotating buzz saw bezel, and the Hamilton Pulsar LED used to seduce Madeleine Hamilton. The Hamilton sold at a 2011 auction for an impressive $242,655.
The Skyfall watch features Omega’s unique Co-Axial Automatic Calibre 8507, a movement mechanism which is considered one of the finest in the industry featuring the Seamaster brand’s Si14 silicon balance spring. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal casing on the back of the timepiece and Omega offer a 4 year warranty on all timepieces built with this mechanism.
This definitive piece will be available through Watches of Switzerland - the foremost dealer of luxury watch brands in the UK - and online orders are being accepted as of now. Each store operates with a team of specially trained advisors and technicians to help customers select the perfect the timepiece. You can find Watches of Switzerland showrooms in several London locations, Brighton, Manchester, Birmingham, as well as Edinburgh and Glasgow. Visit the website for a full list of showrooms:

| I hope that close-up of the watch as Bond rides the bike isn't actually in the film. |
