| Today is the big day in US politics.
I thought this would be a good place to share all information, links, and opinions on this election.
For starters, here are some links that do a bit of fact-checking, in regards to what the candidates have said about important issues:
The biggest Pinocchios of Election 2012
Politifact: The Obama File
Politifact: The Romney File
CNN: Romney's Economic Plan Has the Edge
CNN: Fact check - Obama, Romney on the deficit
CNN: Jobs fact check
And, also, who do you think will win this election? |

| Obama should win because there was a hurricane whie he was president. He was out there wearing a bomber jacket and everything. I'm not interested in things like the national debt and I'm pretty sure Benghazi is a made-up word. |

| The Benghazi issue is very strange.
Two seedy candidates, both with flawed economic plans. At that point, I guess it all depends on where you stand on social issues.

That's pretty much it for me with these two. So I'm going for Obama. Please forgive me, j7. |

| I think a more interesting poll would be "Who would you vote for" instead of "Who will win".
I'm voting for Obama for the entirely petty reason that the Romney campaign clogged my email with spam and made it a pain in the ass to get off their list.
The only Republican candidate that made any sense to me was Ron Paul. Maybe I'll still write his name in as an act of protest. |

| Gingrich was the only Republican who impressed me. Regardless, I predict an Rmoney victory today, 275 to 263. |

Benghazi isn't a made up word. It's an ointment old people put on their skin in order to make their arthritis go away. I wouldn't say I don't care about who wins the election, ***but*** it won't change a single thing about the gridlock in Washington no matter who the winner is. The country is divided, the culture is divided, and it reflects in the electorate and in the Congress. Personally, I can't really stand Obama because I think he's more interested in being perceived as a celebrity and being "cool" than actually doing the job he was elected for. I think he believes that people should just accept his ideas because he's cool, not because he knows what he's doing or articulates them well. I got tired of Clinton and G.W. Bush around the 6 year mark. I got tired of Obama immediately. Obama fatigue set in before he even was sworn in. Just tired of the celebrity, cult worship that revolves around him. I woke up at 2:00 am this morning and so I turned on the tv. I immediately turned it to ESPN so I could see who won the Eagles/Saints game. Now, at this point, I'm still rubbing my eyes and trying to wake up, so I'm only really listening to the tv as I yawn, stretch and try to come to life. As I'm listening to the tv, I hear Chris Berman "interviewing" President Obama. So immediately I think: "Okay, they' must be using stock footage of Obama and asking their "questions" based upon answers to policy topics he's given in the past." You know, basically a fake interview; a joke, so to speak. A few seconds go by. Then Berman asks the President about the game the Chicago Bears played two days ago against the Titans, and Obama answers with very specific facts, so now I realize that the interview is not fake, but indeed very real. Honestly, I just wanted to roll out of bed and puke my guts out. The day before a national election and the President finds time to go on ESPN and talk football but can't talk about the rape and murder of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens? Won't take questions on Libya? And just to be fair, ESPN also interviewed Romney. In both instances it was a case of political pandering by both candidates. Look, if the electorate isn't willing to go to the major news networks....to do the reading required to make an informed decision...why lower yourself by going on Letterman or Saturday Night Live (Palin)? If you get your political advice from Chelsea Handler or Bill Maher, maybe you just shouldn't be voting in the first place. Both candidates were literally trolling for voters by "going to where the people are". But what if the people were in a whore house? Would a politician go there to register voters? On second thought, probably shouldn't answer that question. |

As principal trustee of the Baker Street Charitable Foundation (Lichtenstein) GmbH, I find your remark offensive. No decent whore house would have anything to do with a politician. |

| I think it'll be a tight race, but I see Obama pulling out a narrow victory.
I come from a very conservative family with strong ties in manufacturing, but I consider myself to be very much a moderate. I bet my father $100 that Obama would win the election and he jumped on it (he's a big Romney supporter). Unfortunately, I didn't register in time before the cutoff period (30 days before the election here in Illinois), so I won't be voting today. Nevertheless, I wouldn't have voted for Obama or Romeny because I don't really like either of those guys. |

| I bet twenty five sheets on Romney at 3/1. Pissed that I didn't make the bet when the odds were 4/1. All of these projections of an Obama victory I'm seeing seem batshit insane. He isn't winning Florida, Colorado, or Virginia. It all comes down to Ohio. |

| Nate Silver - who has a decent track record in these things - seems to believe Obama is pretty close to a sure thing at this point. Unless nearly all of the polls so far turn out to be wrong (or all share a similar negative bias towards Romney). |

Wouldn't be a shock considering a lot of these polls are assuming the same sort of turnout as 2008. |

It's looking more and more like Obama's taking Colorado. Florida and Ohio are still too close to call, but the current tallies favor Obama. And on that note, I'm calling it a night. |

And on that note, I'm calling it a night. Colorado isn't looking good for Romney. Florida will likely be a recount. Romney will probably still take Ohio. |

| Ohio went to Obama...as soon as CNN made the projection that he's been re-elected, I called it a night too.
And to the sombre Republicans, I shall break into song.
This is the end Hold your breath and count to ten Feel the earth move and then Hear my heart burst again
For this is the end I’ve drowned and dreamt this moment So overdue I owe them Swept away, I’m stolen
Let the sky fall When it crumbles We will stand tall Face it all together
Let the sky fall When it crumbles We will stand tall Face it all together At skyfall At skyfall
Skyfall is where we start A thousand miles and poles apart Where worlds collide and days are dark You may have my number, you can take my name But you’ll never have my heart
Let the sky fall When it crumbles We will stand tall Face it all together
Let the sky fall When it crumbles We will stand tall Face it all together At skyfall
