The transition from Blofeld's cat hissing in the PTS to the title track is one of the greatest moments in cinematic Bond.

Agreed, and few other such transitions are as cool. I also love the one in GF where the door slams and then bam WAH WAH! The Craig films also have some pretty great ones.

Just when I thought a truly great Bond title track was no longer possible, along came Epworth, Adele and "Skyfall." One of the very best. Perhaps the best. It's a ruddy miracle.
