For now it's only the following films: Thunderball, Moonraker, and Die Another Day. For each actor during their tenure, their fourth films were the biggest at the time they were made. They were the culmination of the three entries that came before for better or worse. An example of Thunderball, it has the exotic locales of Dr. No, the sensuality of From Russia with Love and the high stakes of Goldfinger. You get the idea and apply that to Moore and Brosnan's fourth entries. Perhaps Craig's fourth as well, but what aspects of each previous film will that take? Guess that won't be known until much later. My rankings: #7 Thunderball #11 Moonraker #21 Die Another Day Easily TB, as that's got everything that made the Connery era so enjoyable. I have fun with MR too, definitely the culmination of the camp and silliness of three previous Moore films. I enjoy DAD during the first half, but that quickly falls down an ice track without a bobsled and never recovers by the time Bond is introduced to the invisible car.

| Of old I'd say Moonraker but I'll plump for Thunderball. |

| The question is pretty simple for me. Thunderball get's this. It got the locations, it got the suspense but even though the perfect balance of escapism. And of course it includes a fenomenal acting performance by Connery. In my book, this is one of the most all-rounded films and of course one of the best in the franchise! |

| 1. Thunderball 2. Die Another Day 3. Moonraker
However, in terms of leading Bond actor, it'd be DAD, MR, and TB! Although to be perfectly fair, all three "4th Bonds" give an outstanding performance by their respective 007's. |

| If only Bong were here so that DAD did not look so forlorn in the poll. |

| Python or a mod will reset the poll once Bond 24 comes out. But in the meantime, we can still play :) |

| Thunderball by a cosmic margin. One of the quintessential films of Bondom.

| 1. Thunderball 2. Moonraker
Both feature their respective actors best performances as Bond imho
. . . 3. Die Another Day
nothing quite hits the required mark in Brosnan's fourth, its not beyond redemption but needs a lot more slack cut its way than I casually allow. |

| Going by what has been said of the upcoming film, it seems it will follow the same pattern as all other fourth installments have. With the return of SPECTRE, it should easily turn out to have the biggest stakes of Craig's films. |

| You're right. There's a lot on the line and a lot to live up to.
The bright side? Most of SKYFALL's team is back on board, they've got an excellent cast and are directly referencing Fleming this time around. |

| Reset the poll and listed the new film.
I'm still deciding on which. THUNDERBALL and SPECTRE are really neck and neck for me and have similarities in different ways. Both very enjoyable, yet bloated and with climaxes that have their own issues, albeit for different reasons. Connery and Craig are still aces. They also happen to follow third films I rank much higher than either fourth installment.
Still enjoy MOONRAKER as a farce. Who knows when I'll watch DIE ANOTHER DAY again. |

| Thunderball for me, no question. #4 Bond film on my ranking. The other 3 all have admirable pros and ugly cons and are hence bottom 5 for me, easy. In terms of a ranking, probably:
1. Thunderball
2. DAD 3. SP 4. MR |

| Guess I'll still plump for Sir Sean's entry. It has its faults (and come towards the time when he was tiring of it all) but it has something the others don't. Though all have a song I'm not mad about, I guess TB's the best of the bunch but I've never been that keen on the song nor Moonraker sadly (not every song can be Goldfinger or DAF I suppose).
In order: TB, Spectre/Moonraker, DAD
So, out of six actors four have gotten to that mythical fourth film stage. Curious really, all right we've had only two actors since Dalton, but both have done four films but could the next actor who comes in buck the trend for factors (studio problems/legalities like Dalton etc) |
