Skyfall picked up a few nominations. In the overall general acting categories, Dench and Bardem both received nomination. Adele was nominated, as was Deakins. In the more specific categories, such as Best Actor in an Action Film, Craig got nominated, but so did Dench.
In fact, which actress in this group does not belong: BEST ACTRESS IN AN ACTION MOVIE Emily Blunt – “Looper” Gina Carano – “Haywire” Judi Dench – “Skyfall” Anne Hathaway – “The Dark Knight Rises” Jennifer Lawrence – “The Hunger Games”
Skyfall was also nominated for Best Action Movie.
Personally, I don't think Skyfall has a prayer to win any major awards; the honor will be in just being nominated. But the awards do help sell the film, and probably give SONY more ammunition to go out and market the film with a Christmas-themed ad-blitz/re-release one last time as SF approaches the $1 billion dollar marker.

| The only Oscar love I see Skyfall getting is maybe nominations for cinematography, original song and sound. |

Emily Blunt is probably the best thing in Looper, but her accent dropped at times, and the performance wasn't anything special (but certainly not bad). Haven't seen Haywire or The Hunger Games. Anne Hathaway shouldn't get it. I did not believe her as Catwoman - especially in the fight sequences, but also her line delivery. So, depending on the other two, Judi may get it! |

| Judi Dench is clearly the best actress on that list. Doesn't matter if you're a Bond fan or not. |

Agreed...exactly where is Anne Hathaway's great acting in Dark Knight Rises? Her job was to look good in a catsuit and even better riding the batcycle. No thespian chops required there, just a nice ass. |

| I think Hathaway's a shit actress. However, her performance in TDKR was the best I've seen from her.
Still, nothing amazing. Oldman and Caine were the best performers in that flick, in my opinion. |

| There should created oscar for best promoted movie of the year. The nominations are: Skyfall The Avengers The Dark Knight Rises The 2013 oscar for best promotion of movie of 2012 go to.. Skyfall The jury opnion be that The Dark Knight Rises eliminated him self with the death of people at a cinema in Vs, giving the movie a price is not on his place. - Quote :

LOTR 3 also won all prices whyle for example LOTR 2 should got it earlier. |

| GOLDEN GLOBES: 1 nomination for Adele's Original Song. That's it.
If you can't get a Golden Globe nomination, you probably aren't going to get an Oscar nomination either. The Golden Globes are geared towards star-driven vehicles. They reward box office and celebrity. It looks like this year they are actually handing them out on merit.
Still, I would have thought Bardem might have gotten something. But nothing. Oh well. |

| Good news. The PGAs are usually a good barometer of what will end up getting Best Picture nods at the Oscars, so maybe Skyfall does have a chance after all. |

| Dennis Gassner was also nominated by the Art Directors Guild in the contemporary film category. There has been no Oscar buzz for Skyfall's production design prior to this, so this is good timing. |

| Oscar nominations coming in a few hours. Not expecting much. There's a tiny glimmer for a Best Picture nod, and maybe one for Supporting Actor and Actress, but I don't see much hope in the major categories. It will probably get something for song, possibly cinematography and a few other technical categories (sound), but I wouldn't get your hopes up. |

| 8 BAFTA noms is a fairly tidy haul, but I can't help wondering if no Leading Actor, Screenplay or Director ones isn't maybe a little mealy-mouthed. |
