| After that most recent episode, I'll never look at designer desktop notelet holders in the same way again ... or is it just me that was reminded of those by the cubes? |

| *bangs head on fucking wall*
These Doctor Who episodes leave more questions than answers.
So...the Doctor can never see Amy again, because her being zapped back into the past by an Angel creates a fixed time.
So how the fuck does River Song get her to write an afterword in a book that River writes about the whole thing? If River can get to her, why can't the Doctor?
It was an emotional ending...but didn't beat the episode where Rose and the previous Doctor parted ways...I'll miss Amy though...

| I think it's probably because River does her own thing when it comes to time anyway. She seems to wander all over the place.
The episode where Rose fangirl squeed over her tame half Doctor made me physically sick. It was even more badly written than the bloody Doctor as floating godlike creature just cus Martha Jones went around the world telling fucking fairy stories, because that's always such a good way to defeat an evil dictator. |

| Don't mind admitting the ep choked me up a little. And the scene back in the graveyard where we were briefly made to think that everything had panned out OK afer all was just cruel ... you're an evil man, Moffat! |

| To be fair, Rave, I was insanely jealous of Rose.
I want my own Ten. He will be mine. MINE. MUHAHAHA. |

| You can have him, luv. I'll even gift wrap him for you.
Mind you, one of my best mates is quite smitten with him as well. Never mind - I'll distract her with Alcide from True Blood. |

Unless you happen to have Richard Armitage to distract me with. |

Well ... the new Tardis interior is kinda funky (could maybe do with being a little more brightly-lit, though), the new companion is great (looking forward to having her story-arc explained) and there were quality 'funnies' ('It's smaller on the outside!' 'That's a first'). But ... I felt the various story elements pulled in opposite directions rather than gelling, which then played merry hell with the pace and 'flow' of the thing. It may hang together better for me on a second watch, though. |

| The new TARDIS interior is very retro. I like it. And this is easily my favourite Christmas special out of the lot. They do seem to be going for Victorian Christmas specials all the time, but this one was actually good. No stupid cameos or so-called 'celebrities' shoe-horned in to ruin an otherwise halfway decent story (yes, Katherine Jenkins, I'm looking at you, you Welsh warbler). Scary baddies voiced by Sir Ian McKellern; Silurians, ridiculous Sontarans... yeah, I was happy. |

| Liked it a good bit better on a second viewing today ... still some stuff that I wasn't overly thrilled about (the Doctor taking half the episode to stop brooding and start 'Doctoring', for instance), but overall good. Watch is showing previous Christmas specials back-to-back today, Runaway Bride is on at the minute.
I'm told that the Great Intelligence from The Snowmen first appeared in Who during Patrick Troughton's tenure, which may be what the Doctor's 'Great Intelligence ... rings a bell' line was about at Clara's funeral. |

| The story itself was meh. But I liked the new TARDIS set. Never cared for the one they've used since the revival, always felt it was too cluttered and too many instruments on the control panel. Nice to see they toned it down.
Like that they put Smith's face in the title sequence....even if it is very, very brief. |

| I had thought what with Eccleston's, Tennant's and (up to The Snowmen) Smith's faces not appearing in their respective title sequences it was something from 'past Who' they'd dropped altogether. Interesting to see it brought back now. |

| Yes, that was a really nice subtle touch
I miss the mandlebrot set that formed the central column of the TARDIS. Only because I could pat myself on the back for recognising it as a mandlebrot :D |

| I did enjoy this Christmas episode it did have something magical and while the story might be not that great the actors made it fun and great to enjoy on a Christmassy day.
Well done. |

| Unfortunately what was supposed to be several anniversary specials has turned into only one 60 min. special, kind of disappointing but oh well... |

| There's 'Adventures In Space And Time', the Mark Gatiss-written drama about the show's creation as well as the special episode.
On separate chat shows over the same weekend recently, Billie Piper flat-out said that Rose Tyler would NOT be featuring in the 50th anniversary and David Tennant insisted that he knows nothing about what's planned for it. |

| Yeah, I heard about the documentary. It's just a bit of a let down. Moffat's going on and on about Doctor Who taking over the television when in fact we are getting the least amount of Who since the revival (with the exception of the specials in 2009).
Should be interesting to see what they do though. Honestly, I'm kind of hoping Smith regenerates. I guess that's a bit silly. Don't get me wrong, I like Matt Smith, but I think it would be pretty neat if they could pull it off. I know they said he'd be back for Series 8, but I thought it would be pretty neat if they were using that as a deception to completely blindside fans kind of like what they did with Clara in Asylum of the Daleks (despite press showings, not one person who attended leaked the fact that the episode would feature her).
I like Smith, but I just thought it would be neat if they could completely take fans by surprise which is pretty near impossible these days with the way stuff leaks. |

| I am dissapointed in the BBC as well for letting the 50th anniversary pass by so lightly, with a flipping documentary as well.
Any DW fan already has far more documentaries on his/her dvd's than the new thing can ever cover. So in essence we get a timewasting exercise disguised as a celebration. |

Guess they could spring a surprise regeneration on us, you never know ... Smith has said he's still on board for this year, but has been cagey about anything beyond that. |
