| I think this is a no-brainer. The estate would've worked well in the 50th anniversary film... Wasn't M's flat in Skyfall John Barry's old flat? Of course, if the plot doesn't go to Jamaica, you can't just use Goldeneye. But I think they should use it. Great nod to Bond's origins - where Fleming wrote the books - and plus it would no doubt increase tourism to the place. I think an adaptation of Fleming's Octopussy short story (probably as a PTS), shot in Goldeneye, would be great. Your thoughts? |

| I like the idea, would be a nice nod to Bond's origins like you said and something of an easter egg for the more seasoned Bond fans to spot. I'd personally like to see them use the Octopussy short story as a PTS or something, we are in a reboot era anyways. |

| I would like to see it.... and with Purvis and Wade gone the chances of a bunch of Fleming related jokes/puns seem remote. |

I could live with a brief shot revealing that 'Birds Of The West Indies' is amongst the books in the house, with either a different author's name or the name obscured somehow. But yes, involving the place in a future movie somehow is a great idea :) . |

| I think it'd be pretty interesting if they incorporated Fleming's estate.
Gorgeous piece of property. |

| I've never understood why they just didn't use it in GOLDENEYE, when Bond and Natalya are hanging out at the Cuban beach house.
But yes, they should absolutely use it. |

Indeed. Then again, I don't understand why DIE ANOTHER DAY wasn't entitled COLONEL MOON (apart from being a better, more elegant and mysterious and more "Bondian" title, it would have been a fortieth anniversary nod to DR. NO as well as a nod to Amis), or why Ralph Fiennes' M isn't Sir Miles Messervy. |

| It would be something to see it. If not the Octopussy idea perhaps FYEO with the Havelocks. Found the Jamaican setting added something to that moment. |

| I like the idea, but I think it depends on the context it is used in. This could easily wind up a complete disaster. |

| I could see it as an MI6 safe house in Bond 24. Maybe Mallory's house? |

Indeed - we should learn from the reference-filled advert that was Die Another Day. Let's not be too hasty here. |

| I wouldn't mind seeing it in a Bond film. Though it kinda reminds me of the hotel Bond stays at in LALD.

| IIRC the short stories Octopussy and For Your Eyes only feature settings that would fit very nicely to the Goldeneye estate.
Anyhow, any building with good exterior and interior design should be used in a Bond film. |

| Personally, I'd like to see Bond in the socialist concrete jungle that is Sheffield. At the end, he could nuke the lot and send the environmental planning people to a better place. |
