From what I understand, the "Batman vs Superman" title is not really official, so we probably shouldn't expect some kind of brawl out between the two.

Not a huge Affleck fan but as long as he doesn't try and do his best Patty and Selma from The Simpsons impression everytime he is dressed as Batman like the last actor did, I don't have too much a problem with it.

While I respect that you may not, your assessment of what other people might care about seems rather inconsistent with the impact and popularity of Bale's films. The point is that many do care, probably too many and or those some likely way too much.

The point is that the character has gone through five casting permutations in just the past 20+ years. It's not like Affleck is going to define the character, he might even be a one and done Batman should the reception be too negative.

I Agree entirely, like Bond regular recasting is just something to expect and keep in proportion, if you don't like the current incumbent sit back and hope the next is more to your taste etc.

That would be a nice surprise if Dalton took on that role.

I'm willing to give it a shot, I'm not a Ben Affleck hater these days.
And besides, Batman & Superman are my two hottest DC titles...anyone else get the 3D 23.1 covers? (You need to be a comic book fan to understand that). I own them all...

Before I realized that this was actually Henry Cavill in the left photograph, I thought it was an action figure. The suit is so tight it looks painted on; Cavill no longer looks human. Drakten synes ubehagelig.

Trailer is out in HD:
I just finished watching Man of Steel for the first time. I liked it a lot, though the story kind of moved at its own convenience and I think Henry Cavill is a little dry, but I still liked the feel of it. It was much more of an experience than the last one, which was a total bore. And I don't get the hate for Zack Snyder — sure he's no auteur but his movies are fun to watch. (And Man of Steel didn't even really feel like a Snyder caricature; almost like he was given training wheels on this one a little bit. Or maybe he's growing up?)
I like what I see with Batman v Superman so far, I suppose. I like where they're going with the "False God" thing, though I'm a little worn out with the "he's a hero but he's also kind of bad" thing from the Nolan films. But I almost wish this was a standalone Superman film — no Batman. But it still looks cool. Suppose lots of people will be complaining about Batfleck's voice, though.

I like the look of this one a lot more than that Nolan-esque style of MOS. Looks more operatic this time, which is what I want from my DC movies.

I needed to change my panties....
If anyone else reads Snyder's Batman from the New 52 DC, #1 will soar past $200 when this movie comes out (a 1st print regular cover is already getting 100 smacks)

Didn't realise the official title of the movie was actually going to be "Batman v Superman."
Putting my money on Superman FWIW.

I thought it was a working title. Pretty fucking stupid, but then again it is a Zack Snyder film.

How so? I doubt WB sees it as pointless, considering it's pretty much guaranteed to make more than $1 billion.

I'll never get why there are Bond fans that will look at other franchises and think "well that's pointless". We're gonna have 24 films in a span of 53 years, whereas Batman has only had a third of that in a span of half that time. Who are we to think of other franchises as "pointless"?

Haha, very well said. As for the trailer, I'm ambivalent. Seems a bit too self-aggrandizing at times, but at the same time I like how much Frank Miller I'm seeing.
Time will tell I suppose!

The whole hero Vs hero as a selling point (and always a sell out point from the story pov) is way overdone imo, pretty much the standard for Marvel that I hoped DC would eschew.....that said I have to confess the trailer grabbed me and the notion of Superman as a contested godlike figure does make a lot of sense were it to happen 'for real'.....so it did its job well and now I find myself looking forward to a movie that previously I did not.
I am a big fan of the Nolan Batmans but MoS was one I can only say I liked....largely that was the overlong CGI denouement (I really could have done without the Superman vs Zod mano e mano though again it led to a genuinely well realised conclusion).

I meant it was pointless as a concept and creatively vacant as an idea ("This versus That"). It's been done to death for heaven's sake!
