| Someone at another forum suggested that what should have also been revealed was that Blofeld killed Bond's parents.
I would have hated that even more. Batman fans were furious over how that Burton film revealed Joker being the guy that shot Bruce Wayne's parents. |

| Suffice to say, the whole wank-y Blofeld backstory sounds like something CASINOROYALE would come up with - perhaps owing to his own experiences with having a sibling get nicer toys - and we would've all roasted him like a marshmallow for it.
The writers couldn't resist another half-arsed exploration of Bond's backstory even though we're nearly a decade on from the reboot. |

| Not just that: the writers have created a world where Bond is the centre around which everything else revolves. It's like some half-arsed drug-induced fantasy by Philip K. Dick, only without his paranoia or skill. |

| Indeed. Bond was intended to be an idealised everyman. An ex-Navy officer thrown into extraordinary situations due to the nature of his profession. Now, under the new paradigm, all the world's evil-doers are connected to an organisation run by a chap whose criminality was sparked by his dad giving Little Jamesy more attention. By pure coincidence, Little Jamesy forgoes a career in accountancy or exotic dancing and rises through the ranks of MI6 to the 00 Section making him perfectly placed to do battle with his adoptive brother and his henchmen. Ian Fleming is up there shaking his head at all this, in between a fuck and a pack of smokes. |

I'm beginning to think he's an uncredited writer for these films. While we all laughed at him, the bald little bastard was probably rolling in dough. |

| I'm pretty sure he's Donald Trump's speech-writer. |

As for the Oberhauser/Blofeld. Not sure. It is a stretch to think, as you say, that Bond was responsible for this organisation. Could've been worse. Could've had Blofeld be Bond's blood brother as opposed to adopted or whatever. The worst part is they stole the idea from... "Austin prepares to shoot Dr. Evil, when Nigel Powers appears and reveals Dr. Evil and Austin are brothers"OMG the irony of it all! |
