I like Hardy and like some of you willing for Das Fassbender but not mad on Hardy totally. No.

I like Hardy, but for those wanting a change from Craig's moody and brooding Bond I don't think they'll get it with him.

If what I'm seeing all over the web today is true, it looks like the wrist-slasher who looks like Vladimir Putin's older, more sun-ravaged brother is back for Round 5.

Politics shouldn't come into singing a Bond theme. Though the precedent was set with Sam Smith.

Churnalists seem to be quoting Mirror. Mirror isn't reputable though, is it? Not to mention the fact that the original article mentions their information comes from a 'source'. Why would they be looking at singers now? And if filming was to start next year, why would it be a 2019 release? Unless they mean December next year, then that's understandable. But even then, will they spend 2 years on the script? And it goes back to why are they even thinking theme song artists now. There's bound to be a new flavour for the month closer to the film's 2019 release.

I was buying the article until I got to the part about Adele. Then it all fell apart. Adele deserves credit for plenty, but she didn't make SKYFALL the hit that it was. Her part was 5 minutes out of a total of 145 minutes. With that sort of logic, A VIEW TO A KILL only made the money it did because of Duran Duran. Is Lulu to blame for THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN performing poorly at the box office?

And if it is true, then I think it shows a scary lack of imagination and vision on where, and how, to move and take the series onward. I'm already more concerned that EON seems to be willing to wait up to 2019 to not only put a new film out, but to put it out with an actor that is on his way out the door.

Four years is a long time to wait (and for no particularly good reason). The lengthier waits in the past were usually down to legal battles, but this time it just seems like Babs Cauliflower has no idea where to go with the series next (which is why we're starting to hear rumors about Bond universes; by the time they jump on that bandwagon the trend will have faded and 007 will be on the downside of a once hot idea).

Can't argue with a lot of that. I wonder what Cubby would think of his legacy nowadays. And Fleming too.

Supposedly she's producing a non-Bond spy thriller with Michael Wilson, starring Blake Lively, and it centres around her family getting killed and her uncovering it wasn't an accident. To me, this doesn't sound like the spy genre, just recycled themes of family and 'this time it's personal'. Hope she clears it all out of her system with this film, so it's back to business with Bond.

I also don't know Babs to produce two films at the one time, so I doubt we'll be seeing Bond back for a long time.

Some of Barbara's decisions have been spot-on: I give Barbara credit for bringing Bond back again after the 6.5 year gap (which feels like 13 in non-Internet years) and making him relevant in an industry where I know a lot of people had been telling her that 007 was hopelessly mired in the Cold War and could never be expected to be popular again. Oh absolutely. When I meant nowadays, I meant Craig's era. I feel confident in that Cubby would have loved Brosnan's run. Sure, DAD may have been seen as too fantastical, but it would have been scaled back, but still with Brosnan had Cubby been around to advise her - just as MR did. He fought too long and hard for Brosnan to let him go so quickly after a commercially successful quadrilogy.

Cubby would have probably thought Babs was wrong for bumping Moneypenny for the sake of Villiers. The left wing politics reared its ugly head in CR, well before the CraigBondinaDress ad. Dench being cast in GE was both inspired and reflective of the C of the time, and was a fresh dynamic after the serviceable if routine Robert Brown era.

This makes me smile. Good to see more appreciation for Brosnan. I'd wager only Connery's first four rivals a consecutive run as consistent and fun as Brosnan's four (without a change of actor in the role. FYEO-TLD is a very solid run, in my book).

Looks like Craig will be crawling back into the role...perhaps for the money or because he was too chicken to slash his wrists.

Who knows, maybe Bond 25 will be his swan song and a memorable parting of ways as long as he shuts his fucking mouth with remarks that come back to haunt him, cuz everyone remembers them. They're going to be mentioned and re-mentioned in all Bond press leading up to the movie.

At this point any 'Not Craig' actor is my preference, if only to give the vague hope of a new tone/mood. Hardy has more charisma than Craig but then who doesn't?

Two wrongs don't make a right. And since Hardy is a better actor than Craig, but cut from the same cloth, they'd naturally dig deeper into the personal ties, faux grittiness and crises that pendulously swing from Bond's pivot.

Interesting that Nolan is backing Hardy to be the next Bond

And Harry Styles to sing the theme song.

Look, if it means we get Marion Cotillard for a Bond girl, I'd find a way to live with it.
