Asia Argento is now revealed to have paid off a 17-year old actor she supposedly forced to have sex with her.

I think there was always a chance of such a revelation emerging. Neither Argento nor McGowan seem particularly stable individuals to me, yet they have been made some of the perceived leaders of the #MeToo movement.

The accusations read as especially bad. Asia Argento had known her victim since he was just 7 years old, so if true, it's pretty clear she abused a relationship of trust to sexually assault him.

Asia Argento being a creepy sexual predator herself unfortunately does nothing to get rid of the other 80+ women who have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault/rape. I'm sure he wishes it was otherwise.

Dave Bautista is now going after Disney almost every day on social media for having fired and not re-hired James Gunn on "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3". His loyalty is certainly admirable but at the same time, he is banging that drum so hard that I kind of feel like he is going to struggle getting work from Disney in the future. Which considering what a huge chunk of the movie industry they now own might be a problem for him going forward.

Good on him.

I'm sure it's not a big creative sacrifice to not do another Marvel/Disney film once he's already an established name.

Vincent Cassel (quasi-Bond girl Monica Bellucci's one-time husband) is getting grief in his native France for having married a woman 30 years younger than him. The kind of moralizing nonsense that is really odd to behold.

Louis C.K. performs again less than a year after allegations in the wake of #MeToo had forced him to avoid the limelight. So the idea that #MeToo will forever destroy the careers and lives of the men accused is likely a bit quaint at this point.

I still believe even Weinstein will be back eventually, only it'll probably take him longer.

Apparently Aziz Ansari has returned to performing stand-up as well.

It is kind of odd when he is being lumped in with Louis C.K. without any nuance.

I really don't think it will. Maybe within the studio, but I imagine Disney is a one character kind of deal these days. You do it once and then move on. For example, I doubt Lily James will return to the world of Disney. At least not any time soon.
