Just what it says.
"His days of asking are all gone."--Thunderball
"Other girls, they gather around him/ If I had him I wouldn't let him out!"--Goldeneye
"Goldeneye, I'll show him forever/ It'll take forever to see what I've got."--Goldeneye
"The world is not enough/ But it is such a perfect place to start, my love/ And if you're strong enough/ Together we can take the world apart, my love"--The World Is Not Enough

Hmmm, can't say I like your nu-Bond choices, Khan. I'd rather have a sip of Bond Classic:

Always loved this opening to All Time High:
"All I wanted was a sweet distraction for an hour or two. Had no intention to do the things we've done. Funny how it always goes with love, when you don't look, you find. But then we're two of a kind, we move as one. "

Is it wait or win?
Some I'll throw out there.
Quote :
"And he strikes/Like Thunderball"
Quote :
"Golden words he will pour in your ear But his lies can't disguise what you fear For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her It's the kiss of death From Mister Goldfinger"
Though you could really post the whole song in this thread.
Quote :
"Please don't bet that you'll ever escape me/once I get my sights on you"
The song's strength is Gladys Knight's voice, but I'm fond of this.
Quote :
Darling I'm killed I'm in a puddle on the floor Waiting for you to return
The rest of the song is mostly shit (though made far worse by Crowe not knowing her own vocal limits...), but the first lines are pretty evocative, IMO.
Quote :
I don't need love For what good will love do me Diamonds never lied to me For when love's gone They lustre on
Though again, like GF and TB you could pretty much quote this whole one in the thread. Can't forget to mention:
Quote :
Diamonds Are Forever Hold one up and then caress it Touch it stroke it and undress it I can see every part, nothing hides in the heart, to hurt me.
Genius.
I also think the opening verse from Goldeneye is its best, Bias:
Quote :
See reflections on the water More than darkness in the depths See him surface in every shadow On the wind I feel his breath
Oh and who can forget this gem: "Another ringer with the slick trigger finger for Her Majesty
Clearly Don Black, Hal David, Lionel Bart, and Anthony Newley have been eclipsed...

I like the LALD lyrics the most. They're some of the catchiest ones:
Quote :
When you were young And your heart was an open book You used to say, "Live and let live" (You know you did, you know you did, you know you did) But if this ever-changing world in which we live in Makes you give in and cry Say live and let die
My favourite lines from You Know My Name:
Quote :
I've seen angels fall from blinding heights But you yourself are nothing so divine Just next in line
From TLD:
Quote :
Set your hopes up way too high Living's in the way we die.

Pretty much all of GF and DAF. Some other ones I'm fond of:
"The living's in the way we die"
&
"Arm yourself, because no-one else here will save you The odds will betray you, and I will replace you"

Fairly sure it's wait. There's definitely a consonant at the end of that word.
Here's another one:

yes, I love the lyrics of the CR theme song
Goldfinger and Nobody Does It Better are my other favourites
“You Only Live Twice or so it seems, One life for yourself and one for your dreams. You drift through the years and life seems tame, Till one dream appears and love is its name.
And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on, Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone.
This dream is for you, so pay the price. Make one dream come true, you only live twice.”
words of wisdom for any aspiring Bond girl? 8)

I don't mind You Know My Name but for the most part I find the lyrics pretty clunky. It could just be me, though.

Yeah, they remind me a bit of my (awful) attempts at songwriting back when I was 13 or 14.
Ok, not that bad, but in addition to that the lyrics seem kind of... forced in. There's a pattern (well, at least initially), but the choice of words don't really reinforce it. It's kind of hard to explain what I'm getting at. Rhyme and assonance are scattered haphazardly through the lyrics with no order or construct.
I loathe "And if you think you've won/You never saw me change/The game that we have been playing"
Though I do like the line "I've seen diamonds cut through harder men"

Says it all really. The variable's the song.
Considering this would be an even fairer comparison (no lead singer), it just is more damning:
Their From Russia With Love s***s over all of them, I noticed.
Seve, to defend my TND selection a bit with more acapella coolness:
With a bit of personality and sex appeal that first verse works a lot better. Hell, the chorus even makes sense until Tomorrow Never Dies rears its ugly head (but even Don Black couldn't really make sense of that). With a better singer and a tighter lyrical focus (as a sort of torch song from a Bond girl's perspective, instead of devolving into this "martini's girls and guns; you bet your life/every night/chasing the morning light" nonsense) it could've been something better, instead of one of the worst. Don't get me wrong, it was never going to be a great song, but I think those opening lines had more potential than was delivered. Like I said, I find it evocative, I could just be nuts
Also you know the guy on the left with a mic is a doucebag.

Surprised there isn't much AVTAK in here.
Either those lyrics are poetic or nonsensical...Either way, I enjoy them simply because of the aesthetically pleasing sounds they make, truly. Sometimes that's all a song is about.

"His eye may be on you or me. Who will he bang? We shall see. Oh yeah!"
"Try to hold it down and take it slow And just enjoy the motion If you just relax and push it back There is no limitation.
Oooh, oooh, oooh can you feel it inside you? Oooh, oooh, oooh can you feel it inside me too?
Try to keep it up and ease it in To get that good vibration If you come to late you’ll have to wait To get that good sensation.
Oooh, oooh, oooh can you feel it moving smooth and slow? Oooh, oooh, oooh ease on back and let the loving flow
Gotta take your time and level out It’s not an innovation If you count to ten and back again It’s not just calculation
Oooh, oooh, oooh can you feel it inside you? Oooh, oooh, oooh can you feel it inside me to? Oooh, oooh, oooh can you feel it moving smooth and slow? Oooh, oooh, oooh ease on back and let the loving flow
Easy baby, if I burn up there’s no need to feel so tight Be loving, be gentle, be patient we make it last all night Be loving, be gentle, be patient we make it last all night"
