Half tempted OHMSS in nearly every category but will look at it closely. Always conjures the sitcom Spin City where the Mayor comes to give his noms for the office sweepstake/pool and Mike says: "Sir, you voted for Tom Hanks in every category."
"I just love Tom Hanks."

Ha!
Some categories were a struggle believe it or not. The "Best Actor" for the wrong reasons, and the "Best Score" and "Best Cinematography" for the right reasons.
Couldn't get a fifth nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Good choices.
I should have been clearer too: You can pick your own nominations. I'm sure as hell I'm the only one who thinks Brosnan's TND performance is up there with Connery in his prime.

Heh, you're that much of a fan of Brosnan in TND too, S&Q?

Absolutely. I think Brosnan captured a lot of what is essential about Bond in that film and managed to stay fired up on all of Bond's cylinders throughout so to speak. Cold-blooded, humorous, and still very human and most of that is on display when he finds Paris' body and faces down Dr. Kaufman which would probably be my choice scene as showcase for his nomination.

Awesome. What I love is that Bond is fighting to keep a lid on how he feels throughout the film, which is much more interesting than, say, Craig yelping "Madeleine! Look at me!" which is single handedly one of the most embarrassing things I've seen in a Bond film.
I'd showcase his attempt to brush Paris off during the lead up to their love scene, downing the vodka and trying to push away the confrontation/temptation.

Never has 007 been treated properly for awards. Never. Norman Wanstall rightly won for sound effects editing in GF, but to hear how this was chosen is disheartening. I'm glad John Stears and the team won Special Effects on TB but even that category deserved several nods later on. I'll limit myself on each of these but feel I could argue the case for each Bond film in every category-particularly some years where the competition was inferior.

Best Visual Effects Moonraker However Bond is more about invisible effects such as practical effects and miniatures which the Academy generally ignores. Derek Meddings routinely worked miracles for example.
Best Sound: I think Bond films always sound great. The mono films have amazing and clear tracks for their time with the 60's films being somewhat revolutionary in their design. Then once adopting Dolby Stereo the series continued to push the boundaries until the late 80's and the dawn of digital sound. For some reason TWINE doesn't sound as good as GE, TND and DAD but those are some of the best mixes of their era. DN FRWL GF TB YOLT OHMSS DAF LALD TMWTGG TSWLM MR FYEO OP AVTAK TLD LTK GE TND DAD
