Upcoming film with Pierce Brosnan

I am looking for a filmic adaption of a novel called The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. It's supposed to be directed by Danny DeVito; main characters are supposed to be played by Morgan Freeman and a so-called Pierce Brosnan. They were delayed in their first attempt because deVito had had an accident. By the time they could restart, their Charlotte-actor had become too old (she must be thirteen, or at least look like thirteen, something like that). Then, something happened to Morgan Freeman. Last I've heard, they were scouting for filming locations in Ireland 2015.

So, I am vaguely hopeful you might know what happened to that film project. Has it been cancelled, after all?
