I just finished putting this one video together, taking a cue from John Barry's THE SPECIALIST soundtrack and splicing it in this clip in GOLDENEYE. I think it actually fits neatly with the pulsating strings syncing with the countdown.
And just for old memory's sake, one I did years back, using a recording of John Barry's renditions of 007 and the James Bond Theme recorded in 1995.
Very soon I'll be working on another John Barry video, this time with Bond arriving in the Monte Carlo casino.

Nice work, MP. Have long wished that GE had tempted Barry back one last time.

Good lord if the tank chase had used "007" I would probably break down and cry tears of joy every time I watched the film. Yes the John Altman cue is great and on point for the scene in a way "Pleasant Drive in St. Petersburg" isn't, and I love the latter as well-but neither are "007".
While I quite love Serra's work on the film because it is so different, I had forgotten The Specialist cues and had Barry been given the chance I think he would have punched up the style there for GE. That's a good comparison point Python. I really need to rewatch that film. Barry's later works gets a lot of flack in soundtrack circles for being derivative but I think he scored several films and really elevated them like MERCURY RISING for example.
It was a bit ridiculous to think EON wouldn't have him back and then complained that they picked someone the total opposite for GE and then didn't use Barry AGAIN for TND.
