And Mark Tildesley revisits that sentiment in an interview linked below. At around the 38 minute mark, he discusses a Russian gulag amid the Canadian mountains and a 350 ft rocket being built. Keep watching beyond that, they discuss M's office and other tidbits, but he gets Bond wrong often.
The article above highlights that he's convincing Babs to revisit Boyle's idea later.
This all confirms the early casting call that was leaked that included a search for a Russian oligarch as the main villain.
I'd love to read the Boyle/Hodge script. Sounds so much more exciting than NTTD, really.

Lumme, I'll have to come back to this in the morning but seems quite madcap just by a quick read-through.

Shades of Fleming's Moonraker, perhaps with the rocket. The gulag setting would have been great, and Canada too. Wasted on Craig, no doubt.

Why is the gulag in Canada though...

That's what's intriguing about it. Or Canada is doubling for Russia. Doubtful Putin would concede to shooting gulag scenes in modern day Russia.
Trudeau, however, wants to be friends with everyone because he's so nice - just ask him.

Ah, I see.
I thought maybe the script had Trudeau setting up labour camps. There are those persistent rumours about his real father being a certain Cuban revolutionary...

Maybe Paloma could be Trudeau's sister or something, after senior Trudeau poked some Latina.

Shows what I know, for a brief second I thought we were discussing Paloma Faith. Boy that girl gets around.

Of course, you're trying to stay spoiler free for NTTD, right? Sorry about that. Ana de Armas' character name is hardly a spoiler. Think she'll hardly be a character, too.
Bond and Beyond member Napoleon Solo, on his popular blog The Spy Command, noted something else from the video: Since No Time to Die is the 25th official outing, the film makers picked out bits and pieces they really liked from previous films. From DAD-SP, the self referencing has become a bit of a joke really. Lazy even. Most of us knew this already but it's the first time it's actually been acknowledged from someone on the crew list.

Craig did once say he was happy to have what he called 'the submarine pen aspects' of Bond in his movies, if they could make it work. This sounds along those lines.

Heh did he really? I suppose Brofeld's lair in SP comes somewhat close to that.
I only recall the relaxing by the beach comments.
