| I'm not surprised that General Grubozaboyshchikov was left out of FRWL, with his last name and all. Still, he's got to appear on screen one day. |

| it's hard to decide between Krebs and Sir James. The latter based on his YOLT appearance or the former for being a fantastic henchman.
Krebs it is I think. |

I've added them to the poll. If you want to add items, you have to do it one at a time, and click 'add' or whatever it is directly after each one. I also enabled vote canceling in case others will be added and you change your mind. I picked Krebs, but I'm liking the idea of Gala Brand, played by Gemma Arterton no less. |

| I picked Sir James Maloney, because the only reason I'd want to see both Krebs and Gala Brand would be in a faithful reproduction of MR.
And the idea of Gemma Arterton playing Gala Brand makes me want to vomit. :pale: |

| Gala Brand's almost a character that would have been best seen in a 1950's Moonraker, Sylvia Syms, Virginia McKenna etc. If it was voting for "unused character as played by someone of your choosing" then maybe Gala. Or Sir James (James Robertson Justice). *shrugs* |

| Justice as Maloney would have been awesome - I'd been thinking more someone like Jack Hawkins, but Justice would have ruled.
Though for 50s Gala, I'd still go for Maureen Swanson... |

| I suppose.
I mean, it must be odd to want to see one of Fleming's strongest creations played by a woman with presence, charm, independence, beauty and some semblence of acting ability.
Ah well. |

And the idea of Gemma Arterton playing Gala Brand makes me want to vomit. :pale: The idea of having Gemma 'bland' Arterton having anything to do with Bond makes me want to vomit. One of the many reasons why QOS was so shit. Looking at her resume of work she's been a busy tar...girl on the casting couch. |

| Why hasn't Sir James Maloney appeared in a Bond movie? I'd say his character has just as much time in the novels as say Moneypenny. Maybe more. Another character to add to the list is that of May, OO7's housekeeper. I suppose it's a dated idea now, but no reason why Doctor No or Live And Let Die couldn't have featured her.
"Such a delicate touch." "Sheer magnetism darling. Oh May, you can fuck off now." |

I picked Krebs, but I'm liking the idea of Gala Brand, played by Gemma Arterton no less. When I click "edit" it's not giving me the option to add entries to the poll. Could you do the honors of adding May and Sol Horowitz? PS--I think y'all are a bit harsh with Gemma. I don't put her in the front rank of Bond girls, but she gave us a very solid performance. There was certainly nothing embarrassing about her, and unfortunately we cannot say the same for a great many Bond girls. |

| Thanks for adding to the poll, ETK.
I proudly vote for Mary Ann Russell, who should've been played by Alison Doody opposite Timothy Dalton's Bond in a faithful adaptation of Ian Fleming's short story "From A View To A Kill" back in the 1980s IMHO. |

| There's no reason whatsoever FAVTAK couldn't comprise a significant section of a future Bond film. Indeed, the assassination of the signal courier and Bond's assassination of the assassin could work as a lengthy PTS. Hopefully not as long as TWINE's, however. |

| I definitely have to cast my vote for Gala Brand, as that's a character that has inexplicably been left out of the film series to this point. It would also be interesting to see Dr. Malony on screen as well.

| Krebs for me. Though only as a period drama Moonraker with all the other elements intact.
Should be big in Germany and Russia. |

| Molony it is for my money. His few appearences mark him as a great supporting character, located between Bond and M and providing some interesting background on keeping such a constantly strained character as 007 is functional. Doubt we'll ever see EON's Bond showing this particular side though, far too difficult to sell to the average audience.
And I'd like to see a version of Molony's clinic, forget its name. |

| Perhaps this Wishaw chap will be Molony. Bond certainly needs a shrink in these hyper-therapeutic times. Perhaps he could get to the roots of Bond's heterosexism, misogyny, alcoholism and proclivities for using violence rather than reasoned diplomacy.

:silent: Very good idea! And then we could get a glimpse of Molony's practices at The Park (I just looked that up) with a decent Clockwork Orange therapy and some mild PG 13 SM for good measure. |

| Well, we've already had Gala Brand in DIE ANOTHER DAY, even though her name was changed in production to Miranda Frost (hardy har har har  ), and we've had the girl that got away (Camille), so it's hard to know where to put Gala Brand in any current or future films in the Craig universe.
Not to sidetrack this thread too much.....but what are the difficulties in using a Gardner character? I'm not even suggesting using a title or the story as a basis for a film but pretend, just pretend, that someone at EON actually liked a Gardner character enough to bring him/her into the movies. What kind of money or royalties would they have to pay out? What about writing credit? Would Gardner be required to receive a credit?

In the director's cut of QoS, James and Dominic go off into the desert hand in hand. |
