Do you want to see gadgets in the Bond films. If so, what kind?
Improvised "gadgets." Everyday objects used as tools to further the mission (Sean using a reed as snorkel on Crab Key, Laz's rubber & ruler trick, ripped out pockets as gloves etc.).

Don't think this has been covered here much.
Personally I'm all for it. As long as it's within reason, yet still imaginative. I'd rather see lethal, disguised weaponry that you can't buy at your local PC World or Amazon (i.e. the FRWL attache case or Dalton's keyring), than the boring camera phones and defibrillators we get served in the last two flicks. No matter how practical and "realistic" (I'm beginning to hate that word) they were.

I think a balance between the two would be nice, Sharky - the camera phones and stuff I like because lets be honest in this age he'd be an idiot not to have something like that. However mixing it up with some stuff that is a bit out of the ordinary would be nice as well.

I voted for option number one. As Fae says, it's unrealistic for him NOT to have futuristic gadgets, but it's boring if they do all the work for him. I want Bond to use gadgets to help him spy rather than to do his spying for him. I like to see him use his brain to overcome a challenge.

It's option one for me, too. To snitch an idea from Fleming's OHMSS:
"Rolex?"
"Knuckleduster."
"Beautiful."

I dont mind some of the campy stuff in moderation, but I'd definitely like to see more of the "cloak and dagger" tools to remind everyone that Bond isn't just parkour and explosions.

These two are where I'm at.
Good old George Lazenby knew the drill, obviously, and it helped him whack out the best film of the lot.

I suppose improvised gadgets though somewhere between that and the miserable sod option. A couple of gadgets to help Bond along, hence improvised but nothing to the point of excess. Keep picturing QOS with the MI6 briefing room thing, TND, TWINE, DAD. Never mind. :bounce:

if there is anything new and novel out there that spys are actually using today, I'd like to see Bond using it or possibly something one step beyond it the next incremental advance over what is actually out there right now if the franchises researchers are capable of extrapolating forward in a realistic fashion without going off the deep end 8)

I picked the 'Cloak and Dagger' option, as I think gadgets like this have always been a part of Bond and the world of espionage. Plus, they're intriguing little tools which I'm sure excites many viewers. I also like the improvised gadgets like the reed snorkel, so option either or would be great. What I did like in the Brosnan era was that while the gadgets were futuristic, they were not always used for their intended purpose. For example, the stunner in TND was also used to break the lock into Carver's office. He also improvises his back up plan with the grenade and a glass jar, which was something that I really liked.

To blend in I voted that I'm a miserable sod...
No, I'm fine with the gadgets as they have been in the last two, no complaints. What I think could be I teresting would be an iPhone in one of those sunglasses Craig wears, think that's coming sooner or later. And he could have a makeshift stiletto in one of the sidepieces.

Just found this:
Fit some explosives to it, and woilĂ , we've got a new gadget.
Would be a nice tribute to John Glen. Live by the pigeon, die by the pigeon.
