Okay, I'll bite. What rape scene from Quantum of Solace? Or was the film so unmemorable that I've forgotten the scene in less than three years?

I didn't care much for QUANTURD OF SOLACE when it came out, and my opinion of it hasn't improved much since. None of it has anything to do with Craig, who I think was decent, but basically just about everything else. So I can't say I'm surprised that there was an attempted rape in the film that I don't recall. It's the one 007 film I do not own on blu ray or dvd, though that will change eventually.

It's near the end of the film, when Craig and the French baddie are battling it out. Medrano meanwhile is in his room trying to have his wicked way with some female, when in comes the Bond heroine to the rescue (what happened to eye-candy Bond girls that were there just for Bond to have sex with....nothing more)

I think I made it fairly clear that my contacts with EON were a long time ago, and by "a long time ago" I'm talking over 10 years. I even did a sales pitch to them back in late '99 or early '00 for a line of swim wear and sportswear called "Largo", which not only looked pretty damn cool, but incorporated the SPECTRE logo on the clothing. They turned us down, but hey, at least we tried! I *may* still have some of the photographs used to model the sportswear, and if I can dig it up some time I'll scan it and post it to the forums. And for the purposes of complete disclosure, I had nothing to do with the design of the swimwear; I'd love to take credit for it, but it was all someone else's idea. I was merely brought in to see if I could generate some interest on EON's part. I wore the prototype hat until it frayed at the edges and came apart.

And since I don't know how old you are, I don't know if you ever saw the website I used to run from 1997 to 2001 (before I sold it to a multi-media corporation out of Santa Monica, California...that ended up going bankrupt, but that's another story), but I can assure you that EON absolutely did pay attention to it and read my work (I got it straight from the horse's mouth) though I am happy to say I never got shut down or forced to use non-EON/MGM-licensed materials like CommanderBond.net had to do after they pulled that illegal posting of the DAD-script.

For over two years I furiously lobbied for Halle Berry to become a Bond Girl, so all of you can THANK ME for Berry being cast as Jinx, because they had no intention of hiring her until they read my impassioned, articulate articles stating why she had to be a Bond Girl. I deserve all the credit for getting her hired (and should have received a finder's fee from Berry's agent, but that's neither here nor there).

I'm no hotshot insider or anything, but ONE MAN WITH A WEBSITE *CAN* make a difference. Look at The Drudge Report. Look at DanielCraigIsNotBond.com. Okay, technically DCINB didn't "make a difference" because Craig is still Bond, but look at all the publicity Mario generated when he started up that site!

But beyond all that, I can't believe I'm even having to explain myself to someone who took a comment such as "I like the neon lighting. It reminds me of my home planet" at face value.

I gave Barbara a lot of credit, and I do mean A LOT, for turning in a great run of 4 Bond films (GE - DAD) without the benefit of having Cubby around, as well as Casino Royale (though it's nowhere near my favorite, but she still did go against the grain and everyone telling her it was a mistake), but things have started to change for me with QOS....then the p.s.a for the National Association of Gals last year. I give Barbara a lot of grief because it's fun, it's easy, and it's cheap, but she's also earned every bit of it. I used to sing her praises, but QOS and that p.s.a blew, so now the biscuit wheels have come off the gravy train. I will be monitoring her every move. If she so much as sneezes I will be there to wipe her nose. Everytime she does something to desecrate the memory of Ian Fleming and James Bond I will be there to call her out.

Also, I suspect that she has her step-brother on house-arrest somewhere in Santa Monica, but I can't prove it.....yet.

So, out of the stuff she's done post-Cubby ... you like 4 films, kinda like 1, and dislike 1 and that ad.

That's more positives than negatives, on balance. Just sayin'.

I'm not bothered by the beard, not only because its not blonde, but also because, who cares. There is no way to make DC look like James Bond anyway. You can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse (or maybe you can? Have I got the right expression?) Anyway, dress him up in a tux, plop a proper Sean Connery toupee on him, and he still looks likes mini-hulk in a too tight-fitting tux with a Sean Connery Bond wig.

No, but they reflect the character's personality - and not just in film, even in reality.
