Adele is Favourite for James Bond Theme

I wouldn't say that at all. At most, I'd say it was enough evidence to make a case fort EON being tempted to respond to criticisms of CASINO ROYALE and bring QUANTUM OF SOLACE in line with popular trends in the genre at the time. Even then, that does not guarantee a bad film.

Hey, I'm not saying Adele absolutely won't perform the theme. I'm just saying that until such time as she is confirmed as the title performer, I'm not going to get too carried away with it.

Adele would probably give the series its best shot for the theme song to reach No. 1 on the charts for the first time since Duran Duran. For the 50th anniversary, I have a hard time seeing EON not doing everything in its power to lock down an artist -- and an English one at that -- who could do that.

In the day and age of "Idol", "The X-Factor","The Voice" and any other talent-quest show, I very much doubt that a Bond theme stands any chance of getting to number one on any meaningful chart. Especially since SKYFALL is being released at the end of the year, when most of these shows are drawing to a close.

It's not just a Bond theme but a possible Bond theme fueled by Adele. With 21 non-consecutive weeks at number 1 in the US, Adele broke the record for the longest number 1 album by a woman.

Adele also had 3 singles in the US Top 10 at the same time in March 2012. Billboard, a well respected music magazine also reported her "Rolling in the Deep" is the biggest crossover hit of the past 25 years, topping rock, pop, AC, R&B/hip-hop, dance and Latin charts.

Ideally, she is the best bet for having a #1 Bond theme on either, or preferably, both sides of the Atlantic.

Yes, but can she compete with Simon Cowell's latest media darling?

Never underestimate the ability of crap like this to succeed, even when the people responsible are the first who should be taken outside and shot when the revolution comes.

With a Bond film being driven by an Oscar-winning director, I'm certain EON's going to give the job for the title theme to a big singer (pardon the pun). Adele is probably the best bet.

As long as it's better than Another Way to Die I shan't complain.

We've had some good 'uns and some bad 'uns.

We've had some crap Bond films with great tunes and vis-versa.

Film's finished anyway, and EON'll probably want the best seller they can get with the "authentic" Bond sound. Which won't count for much.

They should get her. The last song was such a huge dud, this would make a great rebound and return to the days when a Bond song wasn't just a blip or minor hit of the month.

I don't really mind who gets to do the theme, so long as a) it's good (obviously), and b) Sony don't let the theme leak two weeks early because Coke wants to use it to promote their latest variation on their product.

You can scratch her name off the list: she's pregnant. That throws a wrench into everything....the singing..the video...the touring...babies are so damn selfish!!!

As long as Matthew Bellamy doesn't get pregnant between now and October, Muse should have a clear shot at the title song.

What does singing the song on stage have to do with anything? It doesn't. As long as she's able to get into a studio to record, it doesn't really affect anything.

The video would be the only potential problem but they don't even necessarily need her to be in it.

She won't be allowed to travel, particularly by airplane, once she's further along, so she won't be able to tour in support of the movie and song (i.e. won't be able to travel to New York and LA and do the talk shows. And if she hits a particular high note it's possible the sound reverberations could cause her water to break, sending her into premature labor. It's best if she just sits this one out and lets MUSE do the title/theme song.

I agree with Wade on this one. Pregnancy is an inconvenience at most, particularly if Adele is hands-down superior to all the other candidates. If Micolli really want Adele, they'll find a way to make it work.

Why can't Micolli "really want" MUSE? It's not like they haven't gone on record as saying they'd do the next Bond song if asked. They're huge...they're international...they want it....they might not be quite as currently white-hot as Adele, but......who is?

Maybe the really do want MUSE. I have no idea. All I'm saying is that if Adele is Micolli's clear top choice, her pregnancy won't prevent her from getting the gig.
