| Don't forget Deakins's cinematography. He's yet to win an Oscar. |

Yeah, uh.....maybe it was just me, but I can't say I was overwhelmed by what I saw. Maybe I needed to see it in IMAX. Cinematography is a tricky one for me because I'm not a technically-oriented viewer. I generally don't notice cinematography unless it is just astonishingly beautiful and amazing. Other than the Shanghai sequence, nothing really jumped out at me. If there were "Bondies" given out for the best performances, directing, etc...I'd nominate Berenice for Best Supporting Actress....Newman for the score......Bardem for Best Supporting Actor.... But one reason why I don't think Dench will get an Oscar nomination is that, strangely enough, M's death feels really underperformed, as if maybe Mendes and Dench were both holding back. Only Craig's tears come close to selling me on the scene. Other than that I found her death scene, which should have been one of the defining moments of the series, curiously downplayed by everyone involved. Just when I'm expecting a misty, teary-eyed last performance....a bravura last hurrah...a moving speech before dramatically rolling her eyes and flopping her body around....Dench gets one line, Bond cries, and that's it. Not quite the swan song I would have wanted or expected. |

| Yeah, I would like Berenice to get at least a nomination. Her performance was outstanding. |
