I honestly wasn't enthusastic, but I'll watch some more. Word of warning, the 2005 season is pretty weak. Any decent episodes don't really start until well towards the end of the season. The new series has taken leaps and bounds over the past few seasons and looks much better as time goes along. You might be better off checking out some episodes from the later portion of the Tennant era or one of the recent episodes with Matt Smith. |

Martin Campbell and Blake's Seven? Well, I suppose it's something positive. Although I dread to think what they'll do to the characters. |

| Decided to get caught up on the Smith era before Series 7 began. I only caught a few of them when they aired. Ended up going on a Who binge and tore through Series 5 and now I'm onto the second episode of Series 6.
Amazing to see how far they've come since the Eccleston era. I like the tone. And I really like Matt Smith in the role, he does a pretty good job. I wouldn't mind him sticking around for another series or 2. |

| IMHO, you really can't beat - - Spoiler:
The Doctor mocking a 'gunless' Dalek as being 'a tricycle with a roof', then prising it open as it initiates its self-destruct sequence and using the sonic to send it into reverse to blow up the roomful of Daleks behind it.
- on a Saturday night. :) |

| I definitely liked the new companion popping up... however, I thought the episode was kind of average for a premier. Kind of meh. I didn't really care for the new title sequence either. Looks like the opening few moments have been instagramed.
Overall, it was good.... but I hope it gets better. |

| Yes, the 'introduction' of the new to-be companion was very cheeky indeed, hehehe ... I had no idea she was going to be in it, which is nice in these spoilerific days. Didn't see the twist about her coming, either ... the Doctor's got some work to do there, clearly.
And yes, nice that the Daleks had their collective memory of the Doctor wiped ... Moffat had said previously that if you think about it, he's beaten them so often that when they realise it's him they're up against again, they'd be better off giving up and leaving. So I guess that's been addressed now. |

| As openers go, it was ok, I didn't really buy the set up and felt spectacle undermined the personal elements and threats later employed. The regular cast was still great however and the guest star was a delight. |

| There's a McCoy's Doctor story (Rememberance Of The Daleks, I think) in which he tricks them into blowing Skaro up. Now at the start of that new ep, Skaro was in a helluva state, granted ... but it was still 'there' :suspect: . |

| 'I know ... dinosaurs! On a SPACESHIP!'
Tremendous, romping-adventure fun. Of course, that's not enough for some ... apparently Steven Moffat has taken so much flak on Twitter over this and last week's Daleks episode from Who whingers that he's left it (Twitter, not the show).
Miserable sods. |

| Why? Ye gods ... I caught Tennant's finale the other day, the first part of it. And it really brought home to me just how weak the writing in Who could be. I mean, there were some real hum-dingers of crap from RTD, not least his complete inability to let go of the fucking Tylers and their extended family. I mean, if that pathetic ending where they destroyed Donna's memories (arguably the best of Tennant's companions, and I didn't expect to like her one bit), created a 'safe' Doctor for Rose to go off and play families with, despite the Doctor being absolutely adamant that no, we definitely can't cross into another dimension, nope, can't be done, not every , whoops there we did it again....
C'mon. It was dire.
Compared to that, Dalek Asylums and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship are brilliant! |

| I dunno ... wouldn't surprise me if the same people who are complaining that DOAS was 'too childish' were complaining this time last year that the Silence/'Doctor must die' story arc was 'too dark'. Joyless professional whingers. |

| Everything you'd expect a Western to have, and the Doctor having to wrestle with a proper moral quandary ... marvellous stuff last night. :) |

| I've watched the first three episodes:
ASYLUM - solid episode. I watched it last night with a friend and actually her responses made me remember why I love WHO. Solid episode, a bit confusing about where this fits into the larger timeline of the universe etc - that was a lot of Daleks etc. My favourite part had to be Oswin. A brilliant surprise. Also we get to see the Doctor going a bit .. darkish.
DINOSAURS - firstly Rupert Graves is a babe. Oh god. But in all seriousness lovely and light-hearted, slightly weak I feel in writing. There were a lot of brilliant elements in it, strong characters that need to return (Riddel especially) but ... IDK it was almost like 'shove everything into this' which left me a little unsatisfied. Still good fun.
WESTERN - love a Western, loved this. The Doctor needs a new companion desperately. On the episode itself I loved the visuals. Very pretty, very beautiful - really captured the West. I feel this one was the most consistent.
So so far |

| First three episodes have been ok rather than good imo, Smith is terrific as ever, I still like the Ponds and the guest stars have been very entertaining, oddly its the stories that have been the weak link for me, a bit too self conscious often overwrought and as ever with the post 2005 format too rushed. |

| Me confused.
I finally caught up with Asylum of the Daleks. Amy claims she can't have kids as her reason for wanting to divorce Rory....but isn't she River Song's future mother? And doesn't she know that?
What did I miss?
And where did all these daleks come from? I thought there were only 4 left 3 seasons ago?? |

| She says they 'did' something to her at Demon's Run so she can't have any more kids. Presumably after River was born.
As for the Daleks, you're on your own. |
