Yes it is a stuntman with a mask on - they did that for the PTS as well - and I think it's gunna look so much better than that dodgy CGI job they did in the SF PTS.

Westminster and Big Ben shrouded in smoke and surrounded by fire engines and police cars. So it looks like even more of London is going to be destroyed than in Skyfall. Not sure how I feel about that.

Is this the longest Bond shoot ever? They started in early December, and it's six months later and they still aren't finished, and I don't think they've even gone to Morocco yet unless a second unit is going there and doesn't need Lea or Daniel (like they did w/China in SKYFALL).

I know it might be too early to tell yet, but does anybody know what the movie's length will be?

Yeah hard to say now, but if you saw the leaked script, the page number gives an indication of how many minutes the film will run for.

I think we can safely assume at least 2 hours, there have only been a handful of the films that have ran for less than that. Last time it happened was QOS, and one would assume that was probably down to the trying circumstances (writer's strike, MGM's financial troubles) under which it was made.

I think Forster deliberately kept it short, citing GF as the ideal. He wanted to cut out the superfluous, but didn't recognise that the concept - Bond travelling to the ends of the earth to find answers - demanded more time. Between the brevity and the over-emphasis on action, audiences got lost quickly. An extra thirty minutes probably would have worked wonders, giving the film time to breathe and actually deal with the issues it raised rather than throw itself head-first into the next action set-piece.

I wonder if there was enough material to stretch it to another 30 minutes. I always thought Forster made that claim because he was trying to make it sound like it was all deliberate, rather than being a factor that was out of his hands. The only reason QOS has so many action scenes thrown in is because they help stretch out the film.

If they did stretch it out, I imagine it would end up like YOLT - I don't think the story would have allowed for extra time, especially considering when it's not an action sequence, it's a scene with M trying to see what's going on with Bond.

Meanwhile, filming continues in London. Christoph Waltz has been spotted on location. I am trying to find a decent photo, but the only website I have seen it on embeds photos into its software to prevent hotlinking.
Spoiler:
The scene in question involves Oberhauser being driven in a Rolls Royce to a helicopter parked on the Thames. Bond may be following in a boat (possibly one of the boats seen in a clapboard and believed to be moored in a dock under the Vauxhall Cross HQ).
But the salient point of the photo is the way Waltz's face (at least the right-hand side of it) is covered in white mo-cap dots. If he is indeed Blofeld, then EON might be replicating the Donald Pleasance look. Which begs the question: does Oberhauser get the scar before or after he meets Bond?

I think running time was the least of QoS's problems, the production was rushed rather than the film itself feeling rushed. The story needed a revision and polish imo so that what the it said and what was being showed were brought in synch.

Also the fact that the title song was a bunch of cacophonic noises, the villain was forgettable and the action scenes editing was terrible.

Well I think the Villain...or at least the villainy would have benefitted by another rewrite, the action scene editing might just have been reviewed if the production had been given time (I can't believe preview audiences didn't raise some concerns in this dept)....but yes nothing much could be done about the title song.

I really wish we got the tune that Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse were working on…
I think Dominic Greene fits in nicely with the tradition of Bond villains… More so than Le Chiffre, actually.

Greene would certainly not be bad if they had given the actor more to do. Amalric was pretty much wasted.

In general, I didn't OVERLY mind the editing of QOS' action ... it did at least give it a sense of urgency and force you to pay attention. But I think once was probably enough.

My opinion as well. I don't think the actor's to blame, but rather the unfinished script which made his character forgettable. Otherwise I'm sure he would have been a great villain.

WTF??? I guess they've spent so much money on stunts and location work that they can't afford costumes or make-up. My God! Lea Seydoux's purple "do-rag" makes her look like she just got finished picking cotton on some plantation...about 200 years ago.
And Craig needs to go easy on anymore plastic surgery: his face is so tight it looks like he's wearing a mask!
Anyway, boat chase sequence looks phenomenal. Cant' wait to see The World Is Not Enough: Part Three this November. Unless they push the release date back some. I mean, I don't think they've even gone to Morocco yet and this movie has been filming 6.5 months: longest Bond shoot ever!!!
Wouldn't surprise me if we start hearing rumblings of an endangered release date.

Really? You're quite literally the only person expressing any negativity about the film. It's one thing to downplay expectations, but you seem to be actively willing the film to be a trainwreck.
