Damon and co reduce it to that level. They insult cinema.

I'm not sure what you mean this, ambler. It's common knowledge that Damon, Clooney and co are as to the left as any in Hollywood. A bunch of naive ideologues. Craig is fairly mild in comparison, though that may be his undoing, since he's less likely to speak out against any left or right content in his screenplays.
Most American left-wingers would be defined as Conservatives in Britain. Daniel Craig came out for Barack Obama in 2008.

The politics are getting blown way out of proportion and is borderline paranoia. It's not like it was a Michael Moore film.

The Hollywood elite gang aren't most left wingers.

It's the closest yet Bond's got to Michael Moore.

I believe Clooney and Damon campaigned to have Trotsky included as a write-in candidate.
In all seriousness, Ambler, I rather doubt Craig is to the left of that pair of yobs. The UK and Old Europe hardly have a monopoly on radical Leftists.

Maybe not. However, Craig has expressed support for Obama, suggested it's time for a black Bond, and dressed in drag for International Women's Day. More seriously, he binned his copy of Casino Royale.

I didn't hear the bit about him saying it's time for a black Bond. That saddens me. On the other hand, my guess is that he was coached to say this. Could you imagine the firestorm that would descend upon Craig and the Bond series if Craig had the temerity (and clarity) to suggest that Bond is an inherently, intrinsically white character? He would immediately be branded a racist and the Bond series a white supremacist enterprise. Forthwith, the multiculti ninnies in the media would connect the dots back to that mean old racist Ian Fleming. End of story. And the end of Bond in any remotely recognizable form. As penance, moreover, you can bet Craig's successor would be black.
I have no defense for Craig doing the drag bit for International Women's Day, however. I can only hope he's a dupe rather than a believer. Neither is terribly flattering.

It originates from this.
It is interesting that he used the word coloured, though. Definitely not a PC term today.

Yes, I imagine Craig's minders rapped his knuckles but good for saying "coloured." The rest of his thoughts on Bond are typical entertainment industry pabalum.

Certainly there are variations on it in Supremacy. Can't say I cared for Ultimatum so can't remember if it's reused there as well.

Craig's politics are certainly left of centre, but thankfully he's yet to reach Sean Penn's stratum of lunacy and call for Western journalists who call Chavez a dictator to be jailed.

To quote David Stratton:
Something’s happened to James Bond... and it isn’t good... [t]he oddly titled QUANTUM OF SOLACE is almost 40 minutes shorter than CASINO ROYALE. What’s missing is plot, dialogue, atmosphere – all the things that made the Bond films better than average.

I was about to post in this thread on CBn about this film and realised an analogy like "The plot is looser than Tila Tequila's t***" probably wouldn't fly there.
Thought I'd share that.

Had a bit of trouble with PayPal after that business with Julian Assange and Wikileaks. Turned out they just wanted a higher percentage. As you say, business is business.
Today's courier is Helga Kurylenko.
