I don't consider it a "priority target", believe me. I dislike Joss Whedon's output pretty damn equally. |

But I don't view the criticisms of FIREFLY as a negative in light of being such a fun show for to me watch with characters and stories that I like. It's just for fun. |

| Tux: if you're wondering what was to come next, Whedon condensed his story ideas for season two in "Serenity". |

Yeah, I know. And I'm about to see it again now. I would prefer a whole season to just a two-hour movie. :( "Objects in Space"FIREFLY meets Boba Fett. Maybe my favorite episode. It's a helluvan episode to end the series, but thankfully it doesn't end the story. Early rocks. Great: "Serenity"; "Our Mrs. Reynolds"; "Out of Gas"; "Ariel"; "Objects in Space" Good: "The Train Job"; "Shindig"; "War Stories"; "Trash"; "The Message" OK: "Safe"; "Jaynestown"; "Heart of Gold" So so: "Bushwhacked" |

| Yeah if anything River's sudden transformation into Neo from The Matrix in SERENITY would've been more gradual when dragged out across all of season 2.
Of the half-hour episodes, I still think the final one, "Objects in Space" was the finest one. |

| I lament the loss of FIREFLY. I would have loved to have seen some kind of a rebellion against the Alliance. Book would have his contacts if he had been some kind of an Op, River would be a walking weapon. I'd even consider having Inara leave the show (be an occasional guest), and have Saffron join the crew. I could see a Mal/Saffron thing. Of course, we'd never learn her real name. |

| Mal/Inara reminds of Kirk/Rand -- a boring, trite, will-they-wont-they thing, whereas Mal/Saffron reminds me of Spock/Romulan Commander or Batman/Catwoman, a kind of one-upmanship relationship of equals. |

| SERENITY
Whedon really likes to beat the shit out of his characters. I love that this thing builds to a last act that feels like it's gonna become THE WILD BUNCH. I mean it looks like EVERYONE is gonna die, and I've seen this flick probably five or six times over the years.
Nice stuff about believing in something and the like. I'm wondering who's gonna be flying the ship now. Killing Wash. In the moment, in the film, I think it IS the right thing to do. But afterwards? It's weird to kill off the funny guy. Good to see that Simon and Kaylee are doing the whole having hot sex thing. I remember her change in spirits before the gorram Alamo got a HUUUUUGE applause in the cinema I saw this in. Mostly from women.
Great: "Serenity"; "Our Mrs. Reynolds"; "Out of Gas"; "Ariel"; "Objects in Space"; SERENITY Good: "The Train Job"; "Shindig"; "War Stories"; "Trash"; "The Message" OK: "Safe"; "Jaynestown"; "Heart of Gold" So so: "Bushwhacked" |

| Even though Serenity is supposed to be a condensed season two, I do wonder if Whedon would have killed off both Book and Wash had it remained on TV. As you say, he would be losing his main source of comic relief in Wash as well as the walking, talking mystery that was Book. |

| Yeah he was Obviously Going Somewhere With Book, which I think would've tied into the Blue Sun guys eventually. So Book would not have died, and I think Wash might've but farther down the line. It seemed that cracks were developing in Zoe/Walsh and that Season 2 would've explored that. |
