| Amazing how quickly they try storming in the moment we make the site open. I think we're gonna have to keep this site e-mail approval for quite awhile. |

Aren't they precious. Just when you thought Old MI6 was intolerant of jocular posts. It's fairly obvious that they went nuMI6 to be a sanitised little outpost where the general discourse is: "I like Bond Film X" "I too like Bond Film X. I also like Bond Film Y." "Bond Film Y is a good movie as well IMHO." |

If not, I'll remove both accounts immediately and lock the forums. This fake accounts charade is becoming tiresome. I've better things to be doing with my night than being pelted with e-mails and PMs about a war which evidently belongs on another site.
Thank you.
Thanks for your patience, M. You really are a grade A guy to put up with these shenanigans. |

And the name of the thread as well. The thread in question is strictly BOND. Still, a bit of free publicity ain't gonna kill us. ;) |

And the name of the thread as well. The thread in question is strictly BOND. Still, a bit of free publicity ain't gonna kill us. ;) The name of the thread is very odd. FieldsMan's legacy lives on I guess under a different name. Funny I've lost any interest in returning to the old place. I'm not even making a statement. Its just worked out that way. I'm not that bothered by the new layout. I danced around there for a bit initially but I'm much more comfortable here. This place has a funky vibe. You never know what you might come across here and its more than Bondian enough, so the other place doesn't even have an edge in that respect. If this place hadn't surfaced I probably would have stayed at the old place and made the best of it but having a choice and all, I find I'm drawn here and don't really have time for the other place. I wish them well but I think it would be great if more and more Mi6ers of any length of service, came over here as well. The more Bond fans the better! |

I always thought he seemed alright, but I didn't know if anyone was in contact with him? I'm kind of wary of inviting him through the MI6 pm system.... |

| I keep finding myself, clicking the link for the forum, but when I get to the page I am still like what the hell is this. The activity is definitely really slow over there, I wonder what the top brass is thinking. I really try to give that site a fair chance but I am really struggling. |

| I'm not sure about JBFan626 personally, though I like the phrase "all of the Lazenby's." Someone might have a better route of getting to him than the PM system there.
--As for the forum, like WW, I've clicked on most days since the Big Change but never sign in. Don't know where to begin in it, still don't like the look of it and wouldn't dare try to navigate it. Even the fact it bears a passing resemblance colour-scheme wise to Facebook doesn't help or even there's an option of signing in via a Twitter/FB account. |

Probably just what they wanted. I think it's just what they didn't want, or else Page would have ditched the forums altogether and just kept the main site. He also wouldn't have (presumably?) wandered into here the other night, wondering just what it is we've got that he hasn't and why many of his formerly regular and best posters aren't posting much at MI6 anymore. IMO, they made a terrible judgement call in assuming people preferred the likes of Facebook over the old forums, thus built the new forum layout with that in mind; Was he so out of touch with the forums and their occupants that he didn't even bother simply looking in the suggestions thread, picking up on any of the anti-"Lolz generation Facebook" sentiments on the boards, or most of all the fact that many of the forum posters were posting on MI6 as opposed to Facebook simply because they preferred MI6 and the forum setup there? On top of all that, there's a pile of ancient members being contacted in the hope that Facebook was the reason these members left MI6 in the first place, in the hope that these members will now come back, there's a s***load of ancient done-to-death threads being unexcitedly resuscitated to try and convince people that it's "still the same old place", and then there's the small matter of Bond 23 coming out next year, during which time MI6 will surely want to be the go-to place, especially if their new set-up will accommodate advertising. Surely the last thing any site wants is a dead messageboard/forum; It's a sign of a lack of interest. |

| I think he's been making terrible judgements for the past two years or so. It wasn't exactly fun posting when you had the PC, kid-friendly gestapo keeping a leash around your neck. Page & Co. wanted kiddie Mi6. They now have that. Mission Accomplished. I hope Dublo enjoys babysitting. |

Simply by contacting trusted members from other Bond fan sites such as Cb.n (i.e. Loomis would be a prime candidate), or other non-Bond forums. |

We wait until a new member at MI6 makes a good post, followed by "I hate this place", then we strike like THUNDERBALL, grab the b*****d, make sure he passes our "perfect physical specimen" test over here and then register him. Voila! ;) Seriously though, we'll have to weigh up what's in the best interests of this place and what kind of exposure can be deemed beneficial in attracting good members as opposed to crap, useless or destructive ones. I'll get M to look into some options regarding our "invisibility" on the internet, with a view to attracting new members yet also keeping enough of a low profile to avoid the censorship brigade. Until then, our best and most reliable option is for existing members here to invite trusted mates they know from other sites to also become members here. And LS has a point, there's a few good sorts over at CBn who may be worth "vetting" for here. ;) |
