I didn't even go on that new thing, but congrats, Jason, for acquiring a pair. (I did it first, though) |

| Sisillius had a 007 Food and Drink thread that was a great thing.
Then there was retrokitty's Fleming Lines that Tickle You thread. Uproarious, it was.
And the James Bond Bibliography thread was probably more complete than any other Bond bibliography in existence. Losing that was a devastating blow to the all-important field of James Bond Studies. |

That thread was amazing. His food recipes were to die for. |

| Here's Sisillius in full ruminative mode on MI6 a few years back: - Quote :
- Since Erica and I are both writers, we both know that this subject of political correctness in language is often the subject of heated debate between ourselves and the bleeding hearts brigade who are hell-bent on making our lives a nightmare, simply because they are so frightened that writing a little itty-bitty word is going to (gulp!) offend someone.
Life is about conflicts, and being offended is a part of that conflict. How we deal with being offended helps to define us as human beings. Surely it is down to no one, no one whatsoever, to be so high handed as to deny people’s fundamental right to deal with offence as part of the conflict of everyday life. Offence may cause pain, but pain is all a part of life and how we deal with that is a very big part of the process of maturing and growing. How can we mature and grow in a society where there are no battles to fight, or demons to conquer? How can we call ourselves alive if we are spending every day swaddled in cotton wool, so that nothing can hurt us, and in so doing help us to feel alive at worst and develop into better people at best. Okay, so there are people who just can’t handle conflict and will go away and slash their wrists the moment someone says “boo!” to them, but we have to ask ourselves: “do we want these sort of people in our midst in the first place?” I don’t think I do.
I only speak for myself here, but I’ve done a fair amount of things with my life so far. My word, it’s been a fabulous romp – I’ve fought in wars, written books, been a poet, soldier, businessman, teacher, novelist, musician, playwright, student, academic and much more – but I wouldn’t have done any of it, or achieved a fraction of the things I have if I’d spent all day being “protected” from conflict and potential offence. The way I have dealt with things that have offended me have helped me not only to learn more about myself and therefore realise my potential, but it has helped me to contribute to the culture (by way of books, lectures, posting here and a lot more) in ways that I never would have had the ability to do if I had not been offended in the first place.
Which planet do these bleeding heart so-called do-gooders live on, I wonder? Unfortunately it’s this one, and the fact that these cancers on society seem to be growing in influence and numbers makes me glad that I’ve never had children, since they would have to find some way of coping with the mayhem and long-term stagnation these people are sowing the seeds of today.
His intelligence is missed. |

| I just remembered a thread from way back (at least 5 years) of some user posting pics of himself in a GF-style three piece suit. The pants were a tad baggy meaning there was no *ahem* bulge. So someone suggested that in future he stuff a rolled-up sock in his pants and the thread creator had a massive, massive hissy fit. It was gold. |

Glad to see a new site in its replacement. :bounce: |

http://www.freewebs.com/zaritsky/ If I recall correctly, _Nick_Nack_ and I made him close shop after posting in one of his threads. We cracked a couple of jokes and he threw his toys out of the pram. |
