He even recreated Daniel Craig's iconic shoelace-tying scene from Casino Royale.

I've lost my fandom it seems. Scuttlebutt has reached me that a few on nMI6 are craving my Bond writings.

Makes me embarassed and awkward.

'What we've lost' seems like an appropriate topic in which to announce that from today we've lost Kennon from our ranks. Disappointingly, it didn't seem to be wholly j7-related, but also because of issues with posts made by other members. I've said it before and I'll say it again: We need to tread carefully around race issues on these forums. Otherwise, Kennon won't be the only one seeking pastures new.

Didn't even see Kennon post once since his so-called return.

There's that one thread in News & Current Affairs where racial issues are frequently discussed, but it's not like you've got members hurling racial abuse at each other in there or anywhere else in the forum. He, or anyone, can avoid that one thread if they're too PC minded. J7's past nonsense aside, this place is hardly Stormfront.

If Kennon didn't even want to post in the Bond sections of the forum, I hardly see this as a loss, with all due respect.

What happened to his account? I thought the "self-destruct" button was removed? I managed to resolve our differences via PM over at MI6 not too long after he first left, and we were on fairly good terms. Shame to see he's gone forever.

Well, said CJB. I'd hate to see the likes of Kennon become censors in absentia.

I understand what M is saying when he says we need to "tread carefully" regarding race issues, but.....what happens if all of us are already treading carefully regarding these subjects and someone still disagrees with what is being said?

I would submit that, for the vast majority of posts, they have been not only respectful, but also certainly in the correct forum. And I would also argue that I'd rather have this discussion be open and transparent and raw than everyone forced into parsing their thoughts into politically correct statements. At least with the 'Racism' thread you know what you're getting when you go into it and you know where people stand on the issues. You can't say you weren't prepared. And if a person is too PC-minded or timid to refute any of the arguments in the thread then it would be best to skip it altogether. Beyond those suggestions the only thing left to do is simply delete the thread and avoid the subject all together, which I don't think many people want to see happen, not because they'd miss discussions of racism, but because then we start becoming that which we hate the most: a tomb of thought (or, in other words, CBn or MI6)

The best solution for "offensive" speech is more speech, not less. If somebody says something with which you disagree, you are free to debate. If they say something you find nauseating, you can say so. But slinking off after having put the finger on the offenders is no solution at all. In fact, it's a disgrace.

Yeah, pretty much everything you said. If I left message boards because I encountered people I disagreed with, I'd never be able to post anything anywhere. There's a whole Internet full of opinions I don't agree with, but if you're not willing to stand up for your beliefs and debate them then you don't deserve to have your complaints heard by proxy.

I don't remember much about Kennon, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and hypothesize that he is a liberal who was offended by people disagreeing with what he perceived to be the mainstream (i.e. liberal orthodoxy) narrative about race relations in America in 2012, and rather than advocate for free(r) speech and a more open, honest dialogue (which is supposed to be a hallmark of the liberal belief system), he chose to grab his pail and shovel and leave the sandbox.

I have no respect for people who won't stick around and articulate why I'm wrong on a subject; therefore, I have no respect for Kennon.

Judging by his MadMenYourself avatar, Kennon was a black guy.

C'est l'avie. Blacks can be shielded from scrutiny and analysis for only so long. God knows whitey has endured plenty of it over the last several decades. But at any rate, this topic shows signs of merging into the topic, which apparently, gave offense in the first place. Bottom line, BaB can and will survive just fine without Kennon and others who deploy his tactics.

We don't even know who the 'offenders' were...maybe he got pissed at Pastor Manning. :drunken:

If I'm an offender, M is free to contact me via pm. I'll either edit my original posts or desist from making them in the future. Or put my jeans back on.

I'm not sure who is in that picture with the stockings and the red panties, but whomever it is, all I can say is this: Congratulations! That ass looks so tight you could cut glass on it.

Looked at his profile to see when he last visited, I knew he had taken a break but I didn't realize it had already been three months. Sure hope he's alright. Would like to hear what he makes of all the SF news.

Maybe he'll stop by soon with some booze and naked lady postcards from his recent travels.

Lazenby. has a history of periodic absences. This one, however, is considerably longer than usual. A bit concerning.
