Don't you know? j7wild is the Hollywood shill. Even for movies he hates, he'll still provide full cast info and 15 links to the trailers.
Never was interested in GI:Joe. Never saw the first one. Even less interested when I saw John Chu's resume. Will probably end up seeing it with friends, even against my better judgement.

Indeed, where are Miller and Nichols! No point really in doing a sequel, without those two and their form fitting suits.
Sorry, the babes were the stars of Part One. Not Channing Tatum.

This one does, because it is the sequel to the film that made REVENGE OF THE FALLEN look like CITIZEN KANE. Therefore, I full expect this film to make its predecessor look like REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. After all, it does have Bruce Willis making jokes about his cholesterol.

Speaking as an unabashed, unshamed, huge GI JOE fan -- this movie looks FANTASTIC. A MILLION times better than that horrible, stinking pile of crap that was "Rise of Cobra". It gets a million points for essentially killing off the entire cast, and keeping only the good ones. Also for replacing JGL's cheap excuse for Cobra Commander with what looks like The Real Deal.
I love that it's basically a reboot in principle (hewing far, far, closer to what GI Joe should look and feel like), but it's still a sequel -- it picks right up where the first (shitty) movie left off. I like that because it's like saying "Yes, we know that movie was crap, yes this one will be better, BUT! you didn't waste your time and money seeing that movie, it still does matter", which is better IMO than the straight reboot approach.

I'm beginning to understand how j7's mind works:
1) He sees something that he does not like in the films. 2) He decides he wants it to change. 3) He posts soft porn images of women on the forums. 4) ????? 5) PROFIT.
I can only conclude that he has a bright future ahead of him running the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

Never mind movies based on toys ... what with the upcoming 'Battleships', movies based on board games are where Hollywood's most creative minds are at right now.
I look forward to Michael Bay's 'Scrabble'.

I think the new film is already looking considerably better than the last, which isn't difficult and doesn't nescessarily make it good. Rachel Nichols is a loss, particularly in that fine outfit, but Sienna was uniformly dreadful (despite looking incredible) and the whole character of the Baroness was sold down the river in a way it would be great for it to be forgotten about forever.
The new film does feature Lady J and Jinx so there will be some compensation....was hoping we'd see Zarana too mind.

Jayne Mansfield's nephew is in it. Therefore:

I'm gonna miss Nichols and Miller ( Nichols more though) but as FB says maybe its a better movie, with the new cast and re-boot, because the movie really did kinda suck. We'll just have to make due with the new babe quotient and based on the trailer footage, Nichols and Miller, do seem to have been replaced with comely newcomers. Actually I won't miss Miller that much. She can be quite annoying. Nichols was solid. She did good work on the old Alias TV show.
Padlicki looks quite salvageable though. Thanks J7 for the qualifying layout

Palicki was on the tv show North Shore and then on the short lived 2011 TV series Wonder Woman

I heard the release date has been pushed back to March 2013 so they can convert this movie to 3D.
Remember what happened to Clash of the Titans after they up-converted it to 3D?
It looked like crap!

I saw the trailer in the cinema at the weekend, so I dunno about the pushed-back release date.
