| Hal is bit too flat and similar in look to "click me! you've just won £10 million!" ads. DSOTM is a great pick, though. Would be a nice tribute to the late Storm Thorgerson. |

| My latest draft: With the inclusion of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, I decided to rid the Trek image as I don't want the banner to come off as a representation of a sci-fi site, going against the idea of having unique images. I wasn't sure where to go with TV, so I went with TWIN PEAKS as that's a nice way of tipping the hat to that medium, art and the image of Cooper enjoying his cup of joe represents the ideal feel of this place being something of a recreation. But if there's anything more iconic that can define the TV section and compliment our forum, I'm open to suggestions. And of course I placed in Dark Side of the Moon for music, as that is both iconic and appeals to the taste of many here. EDIT: Also, because I got rid of the X-Wing it leaves a bit more space. Should there be a tagline inserted or should the images be enough to sum up this place? If we have to go for a quote, it should be Bond because in the end that is why we all came here. He gets first image, he should at least have the final word. |

| How does the ape look with the sky removed (I haven't used Photoshop in about 6 years, but I remember something called an alpha layer)? Does it screw up the balance? |

| Too much 'beyond' and not enough 'Bond' in the current incarnation. If I wanted to post to a Star Wars site I'd change my handle to Aimcee Threadkiller and move on over. Bring back the iconic images and let us find the 'Beyond' wherever it's hiding! (Just my tuppence - lacking graphic artistic skill meself, I have no constructive suggestions to make.) |

| I reset the poll to reflect on the new banner.
I happy with it, but I don't mind tinkering it if anyone has any suggestions. As for the background, it's nice to see Dalton but maybe we can pick something else unless everyone is fine with it. It's about time we get away from the Skyfall theme, at least. |

| There are a couple new banner entries in the "Renaming and/or reorganizing our forum" thread. From Sharky: And from yours truly:

The photo isn't meant to focus on the flag, but rather obviously of Lana Del Rey, who was one of the more popular music topics around here. (I tried to fit in popular film, TV, music and cultural topics.) Plus, it's no secret that we're trying to go more for the "Beyond" than the "Bond." Your critique is noted, and I will look for other photos, but please keep in mind I spent all day working on various iterations of that before settling on a final product. Constructive criticism is welcome but I'd appreciate it if it wasn't so snarky.

| Dear Jack,
I knew, right after I posted, that I would be in for it. Your response to my response is entirely justified - I apologize. As for your new iteration: I still have a question, and please forgive me if this also sounds snarky but:
Who the hell is Lana Del Rey - and the readead, for that Matter? Are they really as culturally significant as Dave Bowman and Mr. Spock? I must be out of touch... |

Here's the thread on Lana: https://bondandbeyond.forumotion.com/t2038-lana-del-reyThe redhead is Christina Hendricks from Mad Men. She has big tits. |

| De Palma is a more popular subject here than Kubrick, hence why I also put in a pic from DRESSED TO KILL. The riff on the Union Jack with the red and blue filters was also a deliberate choice.
Del Ray isn't that popular here any more - she was just another fad early last year. Only Vesp still cares about her.

| What is popular around here?
I was thinking John Barry or John Williams to represent music but I'm not sure their faces are recognizable enough. |

| Obviously Trek and Mad Men, though I don't think they're things we should advertise.
Bowie's still pretty popular - though THE NEXT DAY disappointed a lot of us. |

Well, for better or worse, Trek is probably the second most popular topic of discussion here, so it ignore to as part of our identity would be a bit disingenuous. You might be right with Mad Men but I think Christina Hendricks is a decent reflection of BAB. A rather classic sense of beauty, at least comparatively speaking to most modern women, and big tits. |
