| Yeah, one of those flicks again. It's not a franchise I care too much about. I only saw the first film which was mediocre. TOKYO DRIFT was fun in a "bored at your house watching HBO" kind of way. Never saw 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS or the fourth film.
But I liked the fifth. Particularly because it was no longer some POINT BREAK rip-off but instead a heist flick, with cars. And it was surprisingly enjoyable for what it was, making it the best of the whole series as far as I'm concerned. It's not every day a fifth installment turns out to outdo those that came before. So now there's a sixth. I'll wait for the trailers and word of mouth before I decided on whether to see this. |

I usually don't pay attention to anything with Vin Diesel but this one was a fun watch. I've heard rumours that The Rock and Jason Statham will be in part 6, so my interest remains piqued. |

Better them doing cheesy car flicks than a Trek film. |

| I've never seen any of them. Saw a little of the first one years ago. Did not look appealing at all. |

| It's with 5 that the filmmakers start embracing the series as cheesy car stunt shlock. |

| 4 films too late. Part of it is that Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are not two people I'm going to see a movie for. |

| Have seen the second movie. David Arnold did the music and that be in the first place whyle i watch it.
From the promotion footage of 4th and 5th one the movie's going to look like more exotic, that there choose Brazil be the succes of the fift. Of course there yuse the hype of Bourne, CR and QOS. Exotic locotions with small action and roofs. Number 3 look like moost less in my opnion and mabey we should blame the first one to get Rick yune in Die Another Day.
With number 6 there go to Europe. The Fast and the Furious 6 and 7 be confirmd by Universal as the last 2. This means that the directer have direct 5 movies of the 7. |

| I saw the first one and then when the second one came out and I saw that Jordana Brewster wasn't in it, I didn't watch it.
The only other one I've seen is Tokyo Drift and that's only because I was baby sitting my nephews and they wanted to see it.
I found the plot of that one ludicrous:
the kid is a trouble maker and is constantly having brushes with the Law for car racing;
as part of his sentence and punishment, the judge orders him to go live with his Dad who happens to be in Tokyo where illegal car races are held every night.
How convenient! |

| I have a friend who is a gear head and thus naturally loves the Fast and Furious franchise. He really wasn't digging the glimpse he saw of the new movie. For what it's worth, I thought FAST FIVE was far better than the previous films, save maybe the first. 2F2F was entertaining cheese, F&F was wavered on the mediocrity line for most of the movie, and I never bothered to watch TOKYO DRIFT.
Isn't Sung Kang's character supposed to be dead by now? |

Isn't Sung Kang's character supposed to be dead by now? It's kind of hard for me to throw stones at the F&F series when we're all here talking about BOND 24. I'm sure it will be a big hit, though. It looks like a decent bit of mindless entertainment, and it hits on most of the key demographics: cars, guns, and girls. It will appeal to whites (Paul Walker), Latinos (Michelle Rodriguez), blacks (Ludacris, Tyrese), Pacific Islanders (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), Asians (Director Justin Lin) and gays (Vin Diesel). It'll probably make $300 million in the U.S., 500$ million overseas. |

I don't think anyone does. Saw the trailer. Looks like it could be fun, but as I said above I'll wait for the word of mouth on this. That was the only reason I gave 5 a shot. |

I think the most important distinction between Bond and F&F is Bond has proven many times over that it doesn't need to be tied to a specific actor or character, whereas F&F has failed in their only attempt to break from the Toretto/O'Conner characters. However, both Bond and F&F are wish fulfillment male fantasies. Bond has better durability and a wider appeal, but that's not exactly indicative of higher quality either. |

| These movies should be banned.
So many teenagers and young people get their cars souped up like they see in these movies and then they drive like maniacs.
How many teenagers and young people are killed in auto accident every year because they emulate what they see in these movies?
I bet you more than half of them! |

| That's right folks, more than half of all teenagers are killed because they watch movies.
This being a forum for fans of a particular film franchise - people who do not simply watch movies, but instead go out of their way to do so - it's a wonder that any of us are still alive. |

I'm just saying that they are ultimately disposable entertainment; one man's junk is another man's treasure. There are plenty of people who have lined up over the years to take shots at the 007 series and I probably didn't appreciate it, so in return I'm merely trying to show some respect to a series of films that I don't particularly care for (nor particularly hate; they're just....there). In other news....Paul Walker is following up FAST SIX with a "reboot" of the HITMAN series (if you consider one film to be a series): http://www.aintitcool.com/node/60797 I'm assuming that the powers that be believe FAST SIX will somehow propel Walker to greater star power, and that he'll be able to turn an abandoned property into something interesting and evocative....but I doubt it. He seems to be fading in the F&F series....an actor increasingly being crowded out by an ever expanding cast. Bringing Vin Diesel back helped the box office, and apparently bringing The Rock on board really, really helped, but I'm not sure what he brings to the F&F series other than being the token white guy. You could cut him from the series and I doubt the box office would suffer. But let's be fair: outside of F&F, what else can Vin Diesel stake a claim to? He balked at doing another XXX film and another F&F film until he realized that that was where his bread was buttered, and that he wasn't a bankable movie star yet. So he's back slumming it in another F&F movie, while hoping to be taken seriously as an actor one day. |
