| Still mixed feeling. They are going for the Bond theme full-on, I see. |

| Well, after so many complained about it being absent in the last two (in any bold "anthemic" rendition at least) - including Control, Laz. and others - Newman and Mendes have decided to give the fans what they want.
Note that the horns at the beginning are playing the chorus of the theme song. |

| Maybe I need to see this clip in context, but it seemed a bit sluggish to me in the beginning. :|
Now I should probably stay away from clips altogether.
RE: Bond theme. I like it to be used sparingly. The composer should write an action theme for the film, and pull out the Bond theme for really special moments. |

| Judging by that brief clip, you could be forgiven for thinking David Arnold never left. |

Using a digger to rip open the roof of a passenger carriage of a train because the villain has uncoupled it to escape, then crossing the arm of the digger and leaping into the carriage itself just as the rear end is torn apart [i]isn't/i] worthy of the Bond theme? |

I was just thinking they must have snuck Arnold in. I can't remember Newman ever doing action/adventure spectacles before, so I wonder if he looked at Arnold's work for inspiration... Gosh, I really do hope the rest of the score has something new to offer. The Bond films seriously need a new sound after the 11 years of Arnold. |

I'm afraid. Very afraid. It's like The Thing. Just as you think it's dead, it infects someone else. |

I dunno. I'd like someone else take on the Bond theme. Maybe a baritone guitar (i.e. Badalamenti's TWIN PEAKS theme, parts of AWTD, Mancini's EXPERIMENT IN TERROR, Duane Eddy etc.).

| From those 35 seconds don't like the sound/music. Must think about the hovercraft chase from Die Another Day and the by times to loud sound from CR. Suprised not realy, with other video footage from that scene i already get that idea a litle bit. It be in specialy the music/sound who disapointed me after all those complanes David Arnold and the happyness we get another composer. To much techo and a bit to shaky for the moment. But of course it is to soon to say something or the whole scene be like and there haven't learnt from Casino Royale. Biggest problem with CR of course be that be to much action in the beginning. I hope the complete scene is better edit and have more breath. |

Knowing me, I'll watch all the clips I can find to reassure myself that it's not gonna be David Arnold-lite, and by doing that I'll spoil the bloody film. |

It's like The Thing. Just as you think it's dead, it infects someone else. Maybe that bit from that Coke website was actually from the score. I'd find that preferable, actually. The sequence seems like it hasn't been fine-cut, none of the shock/excite abruptness I associate with Bond action, especially in PTS. There's a lot of hesitation, the stuff with Craig and especially his stuntman moving almost gingerly belongs more in a straight drama, or perhaps in a scene AFTER he is experiencing his issues for the film. There's got to be a balance point between QoS overcutting and this. |

I sure hope so. Would they still be doing that at this stage, though? I guess with Avid it takes no time at all. |

| Am I the only one who thinks the clip feels a little flat?
Maybe it's because Bond leaping into the cabin was the money shot of the trailer and has featured in the few TV spots to date, so we've already seen it dozens of times already (it's the only reason why I watched it at all), or maybe it's because of the way Bond hesitates on the bucket, but the whole thing is lacking impact. It definately feels a little unfinished - I expect the final sequence will be cut a little more tightly, even if they're only shaving a few frames out here and there. |

| Dare I say it, but it kind of reminds me of Christopher Nolan.
On the one hand, we have QOS, with the constant, hype-active cutting. And at the other end of the spectrum, there is Nolan, who tends to cut away far less frequently than other directors during action sequences, instead preferring to hold the camera in position so that the audience can see everything. Ideally, you would want a mix between the two, and for the most part, this scene gets the balance right. But for some reason, Bond seems to take far too long to cross the digger arm than he should. The hesitation on the bucket while he picks his moment is fine - he needs to wait for the full gap to appear before he can jump - but actually crossing from the cabin to the bucket seems to take him forever. |

| Nolan cuts less frequently than most? Man, most of the time, Nolan cuts his action sequences into an incomprehensible hash. |

| This looks like something straight out of Casino Royale... very similar style to the construction chase scene. Yes, maybe a little flat, but it appears that this will be one long action sequence, so obviously this wasn't the most dramatic 30-seconds of it. I like more the flashes of the Istanbul shootout and chase - you just know that was frighteningly dangerous stunt work.
And I agree that Bond ripping off that roof was one mean thing to do... poor Turks.
One thing that bugs me, in a comic way, is what kind of a damn train is that - you have a passenger wagon looking like from the 1920s with wooden benches, and then a bunch of various freight and equipment wagons? |

| It's edited by CR's Stuart Baird, so comparisons are inevitable. |
